Default Single diagonal roll bar

So yea, im thinking of picking up a roll bar.

To keep this thread short and sweet.

I know a double diagonal looks sexy, i understand you guys are all hair dressers and care about your cars appearance.

But. For the Jews here.

What are the benefits of a double diagonal over a single diagonal from a strictly safety standpoint? Will the double offer that much more protection?

The single diagonal will save you life just as surely as the double diagonal. It is also lighter and cheaper.

The main reason most folks get the double is for looks and increased rear visibility in the mirror. I understand it's also easier to raise/lower the top with the double.

the single diagonal looks better. The double ones always look gayed out.

single puts the bar right across your line of vision but it looks better and weighs less.

What kinda weight savings are we talking about?

Im guessing its easier to raise and lower the top because of how far you can raise your arm between the diagonals before you have to grab it with the other arm?

5 lb weight savings.

Food for thought:

I flipped my car when I had a single diagonal hardcore.

Never flipped any of my Miatas with the double diagonals.

Coincidence?

I don't think so.

How do you feel that's not coincidence? Are you saying you're more likely to flip with a single diagonal, or am I just not getting some kind of joke here?

Its been proven, the double diagonals cured the "rollover" problem everyone was having with the single diagonals, duh...

..But seriously, I got the double for both visibility and because it looked better. IMO the single looks retarded. I have a Robbins glass top that requires the rear window to be unzipped to put the top down (RETARDED.. It came with the car), and it is easy with the double diagonals.

Thinkin' about getting a single.. But the 5 lb wouldn't seem to make a difference, I'm pretty sure both are strong though.
