My cooling system supersuks!!
My coolant temps have been stabilizing at 215 degrees on boosted runs and if just driving around town it stays around 208 degrees. Time for a new gigantic radiator, some larger CFM fans, and a coolant reroute!! The ambient temps here in Hawaii are now around 85 and increasing. Good thing this is my play car.

I have a MS1 that I built myself. Right now i'm running the High Res 10g code. I did the TPS mod, and will be doing the fan control mod and the EBC mod. What kind of work arounds would I need to have it measure higher values?
So you're telling me that it doesn't go higher than 215? Damn, that means my car might have been overheating!! Well, its a good thing that the OEM water temp gauge never went a little past half way.

riddle me this first....are you piggyback or standalone? It's possible your easytherm bias and resistance values are simply off.
as far as a reach around, you'll need to see what the water cooled guys at msefi.com are doing. From my mild reading on the subject, since the 8-bit processor can only deal with so much data you have a scale from -40 to 215°. What I believe others were doing is making the easytherm scale and manually altering it so the MS can read withing the allocated 255 steps, but on a difference scale. The other is similar. You leave the scale as is (altough really why do we need to read -40°F) but you extend the resistance curve above 215, the MS wont do anythign with it, but on your laptop can read it...something like that.

Ahh, I see. I'm piggyback right now since I have AC and want it to idle good because of that. I really don't want to mess with the MS because its been working really well the way it is set up.
Hmmm, looks like a new gauge for me. Hopefully I can find an accurate gauge to replace the OEM one in the dash.

ok now, copy and paste the top section of your matfactor and thermfactor.inc files as generated from easytherm, and should be in your project folder's mtcfg folder after you copied them there....

you need to reflash the MS. Since you are piggyback you are sharing the CLT and AIT signals with the ECU. both the MS and ECU have bias resistors for the signals, when you add two resistors in parallel, the total resistance drops.
Assuming you have both R4 and R7 installed and you are sharing the sensors, you'll want to use these values:

take caution when you flash it, save your map, unplug your coils and ignitor, reflash, then reburn the map, then plug stuff up again. make sure to copy the three generated .inc files to your project folder's mtcfg folder. (ex: .../car1/mtcfg/)
the odd thing here is, technically you should be reading about 30°F too cold on the CLT at least.....

without r4 and r7 try..2625 for clt and 3472 for AIT.
I know coolant will be correct, so if the car has been sitting, ait should be very close...if not I suck at math.
basically since I know 1450 is correct with R4 (2490), using the formula for parallel resistors.... 2490 and 3472 would equal 1450....
this also makes sense that you are displaying a tad higher CLT than you should....because you have an actual 2625 resistance, but told MS it's only 2490....that would make it output on the high side....but I'd guess only 4-5°F
