Default Konig Helium or Minuz?

Well, looks like i've found a great deal on wheels and tires. Got Town Fair Tire (New England ares) to match/beat discounttiredirect. A set of 15x6.5 black Konig Helium or Minuz (my choice) wheels, mounted and balanced with 195/50/15 Toyo T1R tires, plus lugnuts, hubcentric rings, and an alignment to my specs for $725 out the door.

What do you think - Helium or Minuz? Both weigh about 11.5 pounds.

Many users (not here only) reported that the Helium are fragile. Go with Minuz or Feather

I have the Heliums now. They have seen several track days and several autox's and daily driving with no problems at all. There only downfall is that they only come in 6.5" width.

I would get something that's wider and doesn't need hub rings.

i'm not convinced of the benefits of a wider wheel for (primarily) street use. yes, 195 T1Rs may give up grip to a 225 section tire, but the impression that I've gotten is that the car is more exploitable and "feelsome" on the street with a relatively slim tire. i should note, my car is currently naturally aspirated.

am i off the mark here?

Yeah it's sure that you could have a good set! I juste report what I see on all the forums I read. When you buy Helium it's a guess. Or they are rock solid, or they are not and will broke soon.

If you get the Heliums and drive hard, be prepared to buy new wheels.

These have never been to a track, just auto-x and daily driven.

crash - is that your car, or did you find that? could the cracking problem have been limited to the earlier production runs of the heliums, and more recent ones are ok?

levnubhin - sure, i'd like to see any helium or minuz pics i can

If the Minuz was 7" wide I would have bought them. I vote for those, less common than the Helium.

Oh, and 1000th post for me!
