Interesting. I guess the owner of the original picture will find out for sure.

My 19-year old dip-stick handle is still in tact. They don't make them like they used too. Everyone always wigs out about the dipstick because they think its still in tact from the 99 motor, its actually from the 1991.

I don't know what the big deal is, mine is still the original handle.
I have done the following with it in place:

Remove exhaust and install extractors.
Remove and then re-install extractors x2.
Remove etractors and mock up turbo manifold, re-install extractors.
Remove extractors to fit finished manifold to fabricate down pipe.
Remove again for coating, re-install after coating.
Remove it all again to port wastegate as it wouldn't control boost, re-install.
Remove it all again to fix crack after first trackday.

You guys need to stop using hammers in the engine bay.

Part of my requirements for TurboTim's Absurdflow was to keep:

A/C
Power Steering
ABS (that was a nasty monkey wrench in design)
Plus I have the Racing Beat front sway bar brace which is coming off soon.

The car is somewhere b/w 270-300whp judging by Paul/Artie Partie's buttdynos. It's got a lot of the same goodies as Paul's, but all the creature comforts of a daily driver.

The bottom end is a stock 97 block w/ 144k miles.
Rebuilt 99 head, planed, Supertech springs, mild port, JDM intake cam, etc.

Hopefully I'll get some concrete dyno numbers within 2 weeks, and plan on going to the Delaware dyno day in November. I will say that the car is friggin' fast, spools quickly, and is a blast to drive. If you don't believe TurboTim or myself, ask Braineack, Paul or Artie Party. The tuning is 97% there....just need some last tweaking.

I had an 04 WRX wagon w/ a 2.5 liter hybrid motor that put down 311whp/310 tq (Dynapack dyno). This car feels considerably quicker. More like a 380-400whp STI for comparison.

So, if anyone has any concerns or doubts about Tim's manifold, designing, etc., then I invite you to drive the car. I autocross in the D.C. region and will try to make some of the Mid-A meets. I realize there's always skeptics, nutswingers, etc., but I'm extremely happy with the custom build. Plus, he's guaranteed his work, so I'm happy.

Might depend on your IAC, mine doesn't leak with just a mini filter bunged on the intake side.

My car is supercharged so any leakage is/would be obvious compared to a turbine which should in theory spin a bit harder to compensate.

I also want to install a remote IAC in my car,
what do you use?
It seems not to be a Miata IAC.

Haha! But hammers make things easier. Not sure how mine got broken actually... It was during my DIY turbo install while I was wiring up the fuel pump and one of my buddies was working on getting the manifold off... What a douche.

I gues man i didnt notice the **** so much with respect to lost power its just that enough pressure built up to blow the plug i had on the line out of there. This tells me the **** is leaking imo. Next time you are on a dyno you might check this out durring a pull wouldnt take to long.

saint_foo, do you have a aluminum radiator waiting to go in or have one on order? My stock radiator broke in a matter of days after I got my FMII kit on, I suppose a solid tune always helps though haha.
