Default DP to flange welds broke, install flexpipe?

Last night I was on the way home from work just minding my own business and a Jetta 1.8T does a ricer fly by and blows off in my face. I gassed it and easily caught up to, and walked the jetta. I get off at my exit and just like that my car sounds like major exhaust leak. I get it home and I find that on my FM downpipe, where the lower section meets the midpipe, the welds broke where the DP is welded to the flange. I'm taking it off in a few minutes and going to reweld it, but a few months ago, a hanger bracket on my muffler broke off. My exhaust is all Flyin Miata from the turbo, to DP, to Midpipe. My muffler is the racing beat dual outlet. Everything is stainless. I'm thinking it takes a lot of stress because there are no flex joints in it. I found this on ebay last night and wondered if I should install this in my midpipe where my Cat once was, (I ditched the cat for a straight pipe). What do you guys think?

That would probably work, I don't know how good ebay flex sections are, there is a chance it might leak. What engine mounts are you using?

Flex joint is must have indeed. Heat expansion, drivetrain movement, engine movement, etc.

Motor mounts are stock. I was looking at the exhaust pipe and it seems to move with the hangers, meaning the welds shouldn't have broke. I'd email FM, but I won't get a response until Monday. I'm gonna fix it and today I'll be driving it again. I'll email them anyway just to bitch.
I'm eventually gonna sell my FM mani, turbine outlet, and DP. I want a tubular external WG setup and a 1 piece downpipe w/ v-band flange.
