What is the best chemical to dilute(and remove) brake fluid. Want to clean up a bad leak on the paint below the master cylinder before I repaint.

Any oil cutting cleaner like simple green, orange based stuff, etc.

Wipe down with acetone before primer.

Anytime I've dripped brake fluid, I've just cleaned the spill with cleaner and had no issue with loss of paint.

Didn't realize that the bushings between the bowl and body had shrunken and drained the bowl in the cold weather. Paint below is bubbled up and soggy.

Even though I was starting and driving it every couple of weeks, I never saw the brake fluid level dropping.

Brake fluid is water soluable. Just use water...soapy if you have some grime stuck to it. Follow up with a wipe down of alcohol or acetone to prep the surace/remove all surface contaminates.

+ 1 on the water and acetone treatment. The brake fluid can do some nasty things to the paint so I'd hose it off with some water and use the acetone to remove any remaining grime before you paint.
