Default quarter miles

What kind of 1/4mile times can you expect with 6 psi? I know there's a ton of variables to work out but...

I just got done working on a 99 mustang cobra with a 5 speed and I swear my 99 miata with 6psi felt quicker. Am I imagining things or what? I couldn't get over how slow that thing felt, and I'm pretty sure they're mid 13 second cars.

Anyway, with a perfect launch and perfect shifting am I wrong to think that a low boost miata will run 13's?

03-04's are still weak out of the box, but have loads of potential!

Most of the craptastic online calculators will tell you that you need about 190-200 horsepower to crack into the 13's. I say they are craptastic because they only account for weight and horsepower.

For example my car can trap 108mph in the 1/4 and I run a 13.3. The ford falcon I ran against trapped a 102 but ran a 12.7. The online calculator says I should run a 12.5.

they're not too bad. record for bone stock is high 12's I think. and yes, with just a few bolt ons they gain ridiculous power and get insane with major work.

about 13's on 6psi. there is a difference between 6psi 35r and 6psi t2554. OP you'll have to be WAYY more specific.
But based on the typical low boost setups I'd say it will be hard to hit 13's

our cars were never meant for the quarter mile, so they suck at it compared to other cars. I'd say no you won't hit 13's with 6psi

15psi from my old FMII setup gave a 14.5 on the Gtech and it felt like a 1.8 60'

You would if you had slicks......easily. Maybe faster.

if the only variable you base quarter mile times on is manifold pressure you need to sell your car and ride a bus

OP, I think you could do it if you had good tires. I broke into the 13's at 95 mph. It takes some practice.

18psi- That is why I mentioned it being an FMII kit

I ran 12.3 with only headers and a lid in the WS6 back in 03-04

I am poking fun at OP, not you.

I think the stupidest thing you can do is base how quick a car is based on the psi.

I guess all those 6psi vortec supercharged corvettes are super slow cause they only run 6psi

I hate it when dicktard ricers pull up to me and the ONLY thing they wanna know is "AYO HOLMES, HOW MUCH PSI DAWG?"

cause apparently that's all that matters.

Headlight fluid must be low. That or vee-tack is jammed. Either way, it's going to require a rebuild.

Its a dodge. Ours wouldn't be able to run a 17 with 30psi........ But it'll haul 26k plus pounds (so far)

I think 6 psi with a gt2554 on a miata should yield around a 14.5 depending on launch. Maybe after slicks, a 14.2 if you're lucky.
