He'd still likely be alive had he not CHASED the car through several blocks of neighborhood, kicking the side of it, without a helmet on. I don't care what the guy in the car did, sometimes you just gotta pick your battles.
Had he just let it roll, called the cops, bought his son an ice cream, and headed home, he'd still be ok.
OR if he really really had a score to settle, followed the car at a safe distance untill the driver stopped, and end the confrontation.

There absolutely should be NO helmet laws EVER!
There is something wrong with our society when we try to keep people from being responsible for their decisions.
My friend always says that stupidity should be painful. Sometimes it is, but damned if we (as a society) don't do our best to tell people that it's okay to be stupid.
I ride, and I've had to keep myself from being creamed. Every day. It's part of the deal. Also part of the deal is that if someone wearing a 2000- 4000 lb suit of armor wants to hurt me then I can get away pretty damn easily.
I drive, and I try not to do boneheaded cager things. But if for some unknown reason, someone on a bike tries to pick a fight with me, I can safely ignore them in my 2700 lb suit of armor. Now, if they physically strike my car, it's different because that tells me that that individual is not concerned for his own safety and I may very well be in danger of my own.

i personally find it pretty funny that there are more states with helmet laws for ATV's IN THE WOODS when your going ~10MPH (yes i know ATV's can and usually do go much faste but regardless of how fast you're going it's the same laws) than for motorcycles on the street (PA from example last time i heard has ATV helmet laws but no motorcycle helmet law..

But he obviously made the very very wrong decision to chase down the driver of the car.
Throw in, he wasn't wearing a helmet. Case and point here, its the motorcyclist's fault.

yes, becuase i have been in that position before. a chick merged over at me, had a SUV next to me and a car in front and in back of me and i was hitting her hood and honking my horn and she was STILL merging over. only had an inch or 2 room to spare on each side before she actually stoped. people in cars dont see bikes because they are not looking for bikes. people on bikes are killed everyday because of a bunch of dumbfucks in cars (like you) aren't paying attenton. people on bikes dont go around hitting people in cars for no reasons. its just common sense, with a car vs. a bike, the car is going to win.

That is not trying to get an *******'s attention to defend your life, that is being stupid and asking for karma to bitch slap you.
I've ridden bikes and I understand what you are talking about, but if someone does something stupid and nearly kills me I generally try to get as far away as fast as possible. I DO NOT RIDE UP ALONG SIDE THEM AND TRY TO **** THEM OFF.

Considering that most people are right handed, and it's tough to make a one handed shot, and it's tougher to shoot one handed from the off hand, and it's tough to shoot while moving, and it's even tougher to shoot while driving one's self, and in order to get any kind of lightning strike odds, you'd have to be moving the same speed and be pretty darn close, I think I'd have better odds directing my self-propelled-human-guided-douchbag-seeking-2700lb-bullet than you would hitting me with your 110 grain pebble, through my car, at a moving target, while moving, and driving, with your off hand, without using sites, out of a 2 inch barrel. Remember, you have to hit my silhouette (head, or body shot through a door) and I have to make contact with any area of your bike to break your ****.
On a bike you have the option of getting away from any conflict not involving another bike. In a car you don't usually have that option, but you are in a cage.
Cliffs notes: See maniac with gun, swerve toward, splat, tell cops you were in fear of your life, thank god you read this post.

And to further my earlier discussion, if said crazy sumbitch did brandish a weapon, then it calls for immediate deadly retort.

Well boys, I'm on both sides of the fence. First off I don't ever believe the media tells the whole story.
Anyone who rides a motorcycle without a helmet is stupid. The ride is quieter and you can go faster when you can see.
I have been pissed by bikes cutting me off. I have also jumped off my bike to jack someone up for trying to open a door on me in traffic. If somone is a stupid PUNK that wants to act like the POLICE, they're not so they need to mind their on buisness. My friend kicked a huge dent in their new suv fender. And they just stayed in scared. They thought they were bad until someone called them on it.
There are idiots on both sides. Some people have a vendetta for motorcycles. And some for cars.
I think there is more to this story, They never said what happened. That guy may of tried to give a lecture or flipped them off.
On a different note. I've almost ran over a motorcycle before that was messing with me.
I know some people that throw out lug nuts from their pockets onto some idiots windshield and blast away. Try to follow a bike at 180 mph. Or they follow them to their house. They hate that.
Point is, no matter if your in a car or on a bike. If a dick pulls up beside you, a confrontation will manifest. And it is always the other guys fault.
It's like dogs and cats. Some play well together, and many don't.
(Oh yea, I have stopped my road rage. YAY!) ( Yay is a special gift from "Special ED" on crank yankers.)

and thanks for all the newbs ganging up on me. but to add to the stupid arguement about trying to shoot a moving target while on a moving target. how would the gun even be out unless you are stoped? no-one is going to take their gloves off, stand up, take their hands off the bars, reach into their pocket or jacket, grab a pistol, then aim and shoot, all while moving, common sense guys. if there is an altercation and 1 party flees, there is no threat anymore.
yeah, just like you summing up ALL bikers together. yes, there is a lot of idiots on bikes, same with cars. but i know too many people that have almost or have been killed because careless car drivers. whenever i hear "the biker deserved it," i get pissed off.

Oh and as far as the noone would stand up while going down the road to get there gun thing..i've seen plenty of dumbasses standing up on their crotch rockets rolling down the interstate, and when they wreck doing that ****, THEY DESERVED IT. Just like if im being an idiot ******** around in a parking lot and hit a curb and flip over and kill mself, I DESERVED IT, which is why i dont do stupid **** in a car.
