Default A ride in JayL's car

Holy ****. We got on the onramp and was in awe of the force this car had. 4th gear @ 7k rpms before we let off. Had to turn around for the second pass on the on ramp. Same thing. Next thing i know we are on a small freeway and theres barely any cars on he pulls over and says "you wanna drive?" Hell ya. Theres no words to describe how much fun it was to drive this beast. I got on it a few times but shifted at 6k. Then did a 4th gear roll on and watched the mph climb up to 90 before i backed off.

Moral of the story?

I need more BOOST! 7lbs aint cuttin it

P.S. Thanks for the ride Jason.

his car must be pure insanity. My car at roughly 300whp builds speed at a staggering rate in every gear.

What's JayL's car running these days. I thought he sold or was selling, it or the motor, to do something more radical.

Had a great time out there today. It always feels so slow to me when I'm driving. Feels creepy fast though when I'm riding as a passenger.

As for selling it, not yet. I'll probably end up holding onto it for a few more years because I think road racing is calling my name.

The setup is pretty much the same as what's in my build thread. I've been running straight race gas lately so I could play around with the timing map and adding more boost. The results put a big smile on my face, so some changes are coming tomorrow to get that power on pump gas with meth.

I want a ride at some point

I know what you mean about feeling slow. My car is feeling very slow again at 12psi. Getting my new exhaust put together I suspect will add a lot and also i've never touched my timing map so that'll help too. My passenger reactions tell me that my perceived slowness is just me...I need to have someone drive it while i'm a passenger.

What I'd love is a few GOOD video's of Jay's car. And yes I've seen EVERY SINGLE ONE of his current ones and watch them on a regular basis when I want to get a boner.

JAY,

For the love of god, please get more videos of your beast. I swear I'll thank you for the rest of my life lol

I'll be in the area next weekend. Lets meet up and have a burnout competition in a church parking lot. I'll bring extra diffs for myself.

But seriously. Our club up here (chuckanut sports car club) is going to be doing a drive up to artist point on mount baker in 2 weeks. Long twisty mountain road led by a v8 sunbeam tiger. They were telling me yesterday that last year they should have been wearing helmets =) Come join!

Is there anything fun going on at the drag strip next weekend?

Both days, but I think Friday is just registration and a test and tune. No idea about tickets. I believe I can get one person in for free as my crew chief for both days, but they would need to be there on Friday when I do the formal registration to get their pass.
