In the car that's out of oil?

I could be wrong, but I think there's only about 1L of oil between H and L on the dipstick.

Do you thing someone stole your oil? That **** is happening all over the place.

F to L is 8/10ths of a quart. The car takes 4 quarts.

Anywhere between H & L on the stick is safe. Odds of damage are extremely low.
Check it every time you get gas.

you're fine as long as you saw some oil on the stick. Now if you didn't see anything at all...that's a different story.

I snapped off the BRASS nipple to the oil feed T off the sending unit once. Drove the car 25 miles and when I came home I saw the dribble out the driveway from when I left. Needless to say I had nothing on the stick when I got back. I've been using synthetic oil in the car and I don't know if that helped save it but it's still running strong with 10-15psi on it. 156k miles too.

note to self... DONT USE BRASS NIPPLES
