The saga of a Miata Addict(in pictures)
#23
I've had a couple of changes since I created this thread and wanted to bring everyone up to date.
First, I bought a 99 Corvette coupe w/ removable glass roof. I've put on new wheels and installed crossed drilled and slotted rotors w/ ceramic pads all the way around.
Second, I sold my 92 supercharged Brilliant black last week. Here is how I did it. I listed it on craigslist for quite a while and had a lot of interest. I even had one of the biggest writers for USA Today wanting to come from California to buy it. What it came down to was the first person at my house with the cash. I was offering the car with either set of wheels, the factory BBS or the aftermarket drag wheels for $6800. I also made the hard top an optional thing for an additional $500. I ended up selling the car to a 65 year old retired couple who want to pull it behind their RV b/c they blew the engine on their 85 Chrysler Lebaron. I got full asking price of $6800, They wanted both sets of wheels so they chose to take the BBS wheels with the car and then bought the aftermarket Drag wheels w/ falken tires for an additional $400...and they wanted the hardtop for an additional $500. So I got $7700 total out of everything. I've taken the ad down and I still continue to get calls on the car.
Since I created the thread I also bought and sold my 8th miata...a 91 Silverstone w/ glass rear window softtop. I bought this car in Omaha for my wife to drive as I didn't want her driving my Brilliant black. I paid $2850 for it, put new brakes on it and sold it 2 weeks later for $3500.
