Default Sequential Cooling Fan Wiring 1.6

Ive done a complete HVAC delete on my car and Ive been toying with the idea of running sequential cooling fans. In the write ups I have read wiring the second fan through the cooling fan relay tends to burn it up faster from the extra load. To avoid this I was considering running a second relay and wiring in a full system identical but seperate from the original fan and tying in to the thermoswitch. Looking at the wiring diagram it would appear to be much easier to just use the a/c relay and wiring already in place by cutting the blk/blue ground connected to the ecu and splicing it into the thermoswitch ground. Anybody done this before? Opinions? Suggestions?

Thanks

Update: the method I asked about in my original question works like a champ. I imagine if someone WITH the HVAC hardware used this method it would make your a/c system inoperative, but for my application it works just fine.
