Sorry for the thread resurrection. I am searching for a thread on the code 16 OBDI error and this comes up with no answers.

I just picked up a '95 yesterday and it has the CEL lit up. I hope you spare me my noobish questions. I've really enjoyed this site so far. I have found lots of questions answered without creating any new threads until now. I even found how to check the code and what the code 16 was by the search function... simply amazing.

Anyhow, I am assuming that the code is being thrown by a dirty/clogged EGR tube or valve, but I have seen numerous people who completely bypass and claim that it doesn't throw the CEL.

Is this something that just needs to be cleaned, and if so, what is the best way to clean it out?

If something else, anybody willing to point me in the right direction?
