The good news is he's not in control of your future. Oh, wait...

Well, at least he's not getting a big chunk of your paycheck every week. Oh, wait...

It could be worse. You could be funding organized crime. Oh, wait...

At least you aren't betrothing yourself to anti-capitalist factions that are fighting to usurp the free market economy that created the most prosperous economy in the world. Ummm...damn.

At least your brethren are standing up for something that you also earnestly believe in. Well...fawk.

I'm all out of positives.

Not a single person here supporting the unions!

Tell your leader about this:

Henry Ford was also vehemently opposed to Labor Unions and he did not allow the creation of a Union in his factory. He went to the extent of hiring a former Navy Boxer as the head of his ‘Service Department’ who intimidated workers and stopped any union activity. But in 1941, he had to relent and finally agreed to recognize the United Auto Workers Union.

I tend to not drive my nice cars to a construction site in favor of taking a beater. I'm going to be less upset if the beater gets mud on it, or concrete dust splashed on it, or a nail in a tire, etc etc. Nasty things happen on job sites.

Exactly... And why am I going to sell a fine Japanese built automobile for American junk...

But I looked around a week ago for a good C5 corvette, something that would make the union guys happy and I am very disappointed at the built quality of those cars. I looked a real low mileage 99 c5 with a clear title. Sure the paint was good but then I started noticing flaws in engineering, craftsmanship. The door panels felt weak, flimsy, even the switches, heck the entire interior was cut-rate... Lets face it, the C5 corvette, aside from motor, tranny, and diff..yeah alot of it is plan junk...

He needs to STFU,worry about the task at hand ,focus on teaching you some skills and not worry about your personal life, opinions ,beliefs or what you drive.

Yeah, but you get an awesome chassis, driveline (save the weak diff), and (contrary to popular beleif) suspension for cheap. Honestly most enthusiasts dont give a crap about the feel of a door panel or the looks of the climate control switches. Especially if you have a car that stickered at just over 40K and can now be bought for about 20K that makes 300WHP bone stock while weighing about 3300 LBs that runs low 13s all day and can be made into a monster.

Personally I love domestic products because I dont give a crap about fit and finish (though that has improved a lot over the last few years) and they are cheap and relaible. Having said that, demanding that people buy them is pretty freakin douchey.

Count me as one more person not supporting the Unions. If anyone can explain to me what good they have done for the people of Michigan in the last 20 years I am all ears. All the jobs moved to the South. America is about honest pay for honest work and fair competition. Not 50K a year for a job simply because one has been doing it for a long time. That's not honest pay, it's over-pay.

Just RACE HIM! He'll shut up real quick when he's putting some cash in your hand or handing you the title to his truck.

I raced a mexican from work and his pos ricestang and I won. I haven't heard him talking smack since.

What the hell does an electric union member care about the auto unions. Does he also support the airline unions? Govt. employee unions? Teachers unions? If it's union we gotta support it?

Whether unions are needed or a good thing is up to debate. Either way, for or against, people are too damn fanatic about them. Unions, government and religion are polarizing topics and the subject of fervent beliefs and equally fervent disbelief.

The NB's fit and finish must be WORLDS better then the NA! My old C5 makes this car feel like a Hyundai. If only these cars just weren't so cheap to maintain

I strongly support unions -- and your right to drive whatever you want.

But you have to assess whether the guy was serious or just trying to be funny. If he was serious, and if as the job leader he can cause you any career harm, then you've got a real problem and should immediately speak with someone over his head.
