you can use the whole assembly but itl take alot of fab work. The lsd swaps on a 1.8. as farr as knowing the difference pop the pumpkin open.

just grab the VIN and call the dealer, but all GXL and TII models had the LSD, the GTU models did as well I believe but are rare to find.

all were GXL's? ok. you would need a 1.8 rear diff housing and axles I believe. or you might be able to just swap out the upper diff bushings from your 1.6 rear. try a search on it, there are many threads on here and m.net

1.8 driveshaft, 1.8 halfshafts, 1.8 rear-end assembly.

want the rx7 lsd, open the diff and drop the unit in....supossely.

or you can do the TII rear (8") which requires a lot of effort.

well, might have a Torsen type II for sale very soon, but probably over your budget. unless you have a red hardtop to trade, lol.

You can use the rx7 housing (swap bushings from miata housing), stub shafts if using 2piece miata axles(kinda rare) and the lsd unit, thats it for the basic swap.

So don't take the axles driveshaft or thrid memeber (take out lsd unit) rest is junk.

You need miata third memeber (b/c of ppf mounts and short pinion) then u need miata axles(kinda hard to find) and a 94+ driveshaft(everywhere for 50bux)

The Turbo II's, like the naturally-aspirated RX-7s, came with both clutch-type ('86-'88) and viscous ('89-'91).

Just get a miata thrid member with an open diff, then slap the ring gear from it onto the rx7 lsd and into the third member. I'd use one piece miata axles if I were u (thats what I used, i have an rx7 lsd) Then get the miata driveshaft. Then use the rx7 housing and press out the bushings and transfer in the miata ones and thats about it. Aside form tsetting backlas h and jazz

Magna, he was probably like, "Hmmm...should I get one of those rear-ends for him? I don't know....oh wait, what's this? He'll PAY ME for one of them! Well, hot-damn, I'm totally doing it!!"

BTW, if you're going to make him go through the trouble of pulling a second RX-7 rear-end for you, you'd better pay him a bonus for removing it: they're a ******* pain in the *** to get out of the RX-7. Much more labor-intensive than the Miata.

Last rx7 rear I pulled I charged the guy $150 for removal in addition to what he was paying for the part. It is not an easy task at all.
