Default Seats?

I have a HDHCDDHTwHB roll bar.

I also have a fat ***, at 210 lbs @ 5'9". ~35" waist.

I would like to secure said derriere to the car with a 5 point racing harness.

I'd like to be able to fit the seat to the car without modification to the car or much/any modification to the seat. I am okay fabricating rail brackets or using rail adapters.

I will want to be able to pass a broomstick test and still be able to drive the car on the highway without feeling like my fillings are going to shake out.

Any thoughts? What are you guys running?

I've run stock seats thus far, so can't be of too much help, but here is a page from FM on fitment and weight of various seats. Hopefully it'll give you somewhere to start.

I'm 5'10" 190lbs with short legs. I have an ultrashield rally seat bolted to the stock rails and a HDHCDD. I could fit 2" under the bar with helmet on if I slump down. I don't really need to since I have a hard top.

Broomstick test sounds dirty.

How comfy is that ultrashield seat for longer journeys?

I finally got my sprint V in and all I'll say is that it will not be comfortable for someone of your body type. You might actually consider doing some foam removal on your stock seat and cutting a hole for the 5th point. I ran the harness with the stock seat for a day and was really really impressed with how well that worked, plus if you went that route you would save some $.

well, i belong to a gym now, and I've lost 10 pounds in the last month and a half. I hope to be down to about 180-170 by the summer if I keep kicking ***. I know that will open up some possibilities (and will be the best weight reduction I can do to the car. lol.)

I am 5'11, 190lb and really wide in the shoulders. I pass the broomstick test with my sparco sprint bolted to the floor, but my lats don't really fit so I had to open it up some.

For me it's great, if you size your seat well and add a little extra foam where you need it, it's comfy. The problem is most people don't think to add extra padding.

When you say TDR are you referring to the Ultrashield seats that you can get all over the place or do you refer to something special that I don't know exists?

I had a Kirkey seat in my SM which was previously used as an instruction car, so the driver's seat had to accommodate all shapes and sizes. I'll try and find a link. It was pretty comfy too, and reasonably priced.
