roughly $340 US? seems high for a used turbo with no warranty. I refuse to pay more than $200 for non warrantied turbos.

The gtir t28 is the biggest t28 nissan makes. Should easily make 200whp but will spool a little bit later than a bb or smaller t28.

The gtir t28 are pretty sought after so they usually go for decent money.

what would be a little bit later then? spooled at 4k rpm or even later?
might consider a larger t25 then maybe?

(car is a '94 1.8l european mx-5, with 85k miles on it btw)

I'd be suprised if you hit full boost higher than 3800 rpm... you'd probably start spooling around 2000 and hit full boost about 3500. no experience with that turbo myself, but based on the specs that's what I'd expect.
