As far as I know you can not replace the ball joints.

What is wrong with it?

its all one piece. control arm + upper ball joint = expensive bullshit. If you just need the boot you can get em here:

Thank you so, so, much. I just needed the boot since mine got eaten by salt, and the ball joint itself looks good. What kind of grease should i use in there? The Redline Racing one or what?

I normally use valvoline synthetic axle and wheel bearing grease. It's about $7/can and will last your several years. I use it for just about everything that needs grease.

Lucas also make a boat trailer wheel bearing grease that is extremely water tolerant. We use that stuff at work to lube sub-sea tooling. I've been wanting to get a couple tubes of it to try at home.

If a ball joint is removed from the control arm do you guys think it would be safe to reinstall it to the control arm?
I don't know what kinds of tollerances are required for that sort of interference fit.

I would say no. If the ball joint is fine reseal and move on, if fucked up get a new control arm. Last thing I would want is a ball joint failing.

My ball joint is good, just the boot is messed up and since my control arms are beoing powder coated i was thinking about removing it... There aren't any plastic parts in it, right? or anything that 180*F can damage?

Err i wouldn't heat it, i dont know specifically but most ball joints have a plastic of some kind, the heat will melt it. If there is no plastic the heat will **** your grease up, and I dont know what happens to that grease when heated.
