Hmm, now I want a 'V' version of this brace, 2 points of the V on the header, one point in the middle of the rollbar:



(Note I'm not saying this will substitute for a cage, I just want a more rigid chassis. Yes I have the butterfly, door bars et al already)

I've always wondered what, if anything, this would do for rigidity.

I assumed it simply 'cured' some chassis NHV but added little in terms of structure/rigidity. I'd be concerned about windshield longevity.

I cannot imagine how that would possibly be a better alternative to a full on cage.

Actually it looks like itd be the worst of both worlds.

For me, the probability of having a 5 mph accident on the way to the track where my head strikes a bar like that and I die is infinitely higher than the probability of rolling the car on track where that bar would make the difference.

It is NOT a substitute for a cage, nor something to improve rollover protection.
It is to reduce NVH.

The rollbar behind the driver's head is MUCH closer than the V-bar.

I get what you're saying, but think that's a bit over the top for NVH to be honest.
You're basically running almost a full cage, with all the dangers that come with driving it on the street without a helmet, but without all the benefits.
I'm surprised you're still unhappy with frame rails, door bars, and a roll bar in an nb.

But I dunno much more on this since I don't even have a roll bar, so I'll just bow out of the conversation lol

Seam welded door openings only. I seriously doubt more seam welding will be anywhere as good as my suggested V-bar.

Because drove Boxster.

Has benefit of NVH reduction. Realistically any increased risk is still lower than riding a motorcycle. Yet if someone suggests this kind of bar, lots of people say "too dangerous", but not if I say "I just bought a Gixxer".

is the brace bolted to the windshield frame?...is this a custom job?...need to be able to carry surfboards on the roof with the top down and i think this would be my best route.
