I use the funnel & hose method, works great, not messy at all. It goes faster if you put the bottle of tranny oil in a bucket of hot water to warm it up before you start.

Thanks for the responses everyone.

I'm going to try out the pump albertogti117 suggested. I've used pumps similar to the amsoil one before but they fell apart in my hands. It is quite possible I take un-necessarily aggressive liberties with my lubrication.
