Default Hood pin location?

So I've been searching for hood pin pics with no success.... I want to get access to the hood catch are for a duct, so I've been thinking about pinning the hood. Never pinned one before. Where do people put the pins?

Mine are about 3-4" in from the headlights. see pic. Realistically you could use the holes where the rubber bumpstops were too.

On my FM hood I had the pins behind the headlights, the side closest to the fenders. There's a spot on the inside fender that's pretty much perfect for them.

the failure was due to the hardware.

I see..I never heard the reasoning behind the failure, just knew I was more pissed off when the hood hit the windshield than newb was, never seen somebody brush something like that off so easily...

I used the rubber bumper holes inside of the headlights, although I had to drill them out a bit. Put some paint on the top, gently close hood, drill through paint, repeat. Do this one pin at a time. I choose that location because it seemed like the holes above the headlights would allow for too much lift in the front.
