Upgrades - 6UL/Brakes/Pads/Rails/R&P

That's the combo I was planning on getting, but the guy at carbotech talked me into getting xp8's all around since I still DD the car. He said they've been racing miata's since 2001 and that the 8's wouldn't fade, I'm thinking now I should have demanded the xp10's for the front.
I DD the XP12/XP10 and get brutal squealing if I don't wash the dust off regularly. So I just ignore the squealing... Strangely, they don't squeal the week following a track day so maybe it has more to do with the discs getting dirty than the actual brake dust?

I'm trying to support the local buddies, but I feel like I need to try the carbotechs.
Let me tell you about sport-rotor ordering gayness. No matter how many times you tell the shop or put it in writing, they will send you standard rotors. I've been through this 3-times now, and can't seem to get sport rotors sent and its really pissing me the **** off. I have 2 sets of standard fronts in the garage because no one can seem to figure it out.

lol.
Probably Mike. Truth be told, those guys are programmed to think in terms of a Spec Miata since they all race. Hard compound 205's on 7" wheels with no ABS or driver adjustable prop valve. Put a set of 225/45's on 9's in an FI & ABS car and the amount of kinetic energy getting put into the brakes is about quadrupled.
I only recommend XP8's now for street tires. In my own testing it was highly track dependent. XP8's on my 100whp beater with lots of grip never ran out of brakes until I did Horsethief mile. They didn't go away but they required maybe 30% more pedal effort in one particularly nasty steep downhill hairpin.
Went to XP10/XP8 like all the Spec Miatas and never had and issue.
The OGK is much faster than the beater so it needs XP12's up front. With the wing I'm finding that its impossible to lock the rears even with the prop valve wide open. So the OGK will get XP12's rears too. I have a BBK laying around the shop but I'm saving it for the Rotrex Supercharger going into the NB. Like your car Sav, The OGK with XP12's hasn't run out of brakes yet so the only gain from the BBK would be a better pedal and the 10~12lb weight savings.

I did xp8's all around and the fronts were toast after 2 track days. Turbo car and heavy. Now running xp10's in the front. No issues as a DD car. We'll see if they are more durable at the track this spring.
The Carbotech guys making suggestions need to wake up that the DD cars are heavier and turbos are much faster on the straights. Pre turbo I was seeing 90-95 terminal speeds on both straights on my local track. Post turbo it's 120-125.
