Which big white plastic thing is my A/C condenser? I am pretty sure it is the thing on the right.

Just want to make sure before I start ripping away at it.

The A/C condenser is under the hood just in front of the radiator.

The evaporator is inside the leftmost white box in that picture. The rightmost white box contains the blower motor and fan. In vehicles without A/C, there is a plastic tube which goes in the space where the evap box is, to connect the blower assembly to the heater box in the middle of the dash. (Were '01s available without A/C?)

Here's a diagram of the system. The evap box is the one labeled "Cooling Unit"

The evaporator, as Joe suggested, is on the left. On the right is the blower fan.

Thank you! I did indeed mean the A/C evaporator.

Does anyone know if it possible to remove this without pulling the dash?

Yes, it's quite easy. Having removed the glovebox and the little metal bar beneath it, unhook the electrical connections, unclip it from the blower and the heater assembly, unscrew the refrigerant tubes from under the hood, and remove the box.

Thanks for all this info. I just came online to search for threads on how to remove the AC system. Which is the best way to discharge the system? Releasing the blue low pressure side?

Gayflora, are you removing AC? There's a local shop here that might be interested. They pay money. I've already signed mine over to him.

I just have one question... you seriously couldn't figure this out based on which one has electricity running to it and which one has AC lines running into it from the firewall?

By taking it to an A/C repair shop and having them evacuate it using their fancy machine. Otherwise, God will kill a kitten.

AC shops don't discharge the system when front-end collisions occur...

Wait, you mean you can't just stick both ends of the AC line into a bucket?
