Default No wonder my car is so fast, it has a cheater engine!!!

So I had a comp and leakdown test done yesterday just out of curiousity.

The results.

Compression test

Cylinder
1: 198
2: 160
3: 180
4: 198

Leakdown

1: 17% (rings)
2: 50% (intake valve is stuck open)
3: 35% (intake again)
4: 7% (detonation keeps things clean lol)

So I was going to rebuild it with the 99 head this winter anyway, I guess this just gives me more of a reason to get it done.

So I'm thinking more boost would fix this right? lol

That's Canadia pressure, use an American gauge.

When you put that engine in did you do a compression test? I'd think seriously about getting better engine management before you put any money back into the motor. I think running 14psi boost with an EMB may have been in error.

Ms pnp is on the way as we speak. I only ran 14psi once for like 1 minute lol it didnt do **** all(it was over fueled and over timed)

It has been set at 7psi since. Nothing wrong with running 14psi with emb aslong as you have enough fuel, why not?

How long do you think it takes to **** your engine from going lean? Knocking? 1 minute in boost is a long time.

Says the guy with a toasted motor. The EMB can only compensate so much for a larger injector. You are probably running pig rich all the time, this could be a factor in the failure of your ring(s). Are you running a MAP sensor with the EMB?

What kind of shape was the motor in when you installed it?

I didnt mean literally one minute in boost, I meant I dialed in 25percent more fuel across the whole rpm range(over 3k) and pulled 14deg timing and went for a very short drive before stopping and pullin out the mbc.

I dont have any idea what shape the engine was in before it was turbocharged, it has and continues to run fairly strong imo.

Lol pig rich all the time, come on now, it was tuned to 13.7-14.5 in cruise, lower boost levels 1-5 psi afrs were 10-11, and full 7psi was 12 (4-5k) and 12.5 5k to redline.

Plugs were pulled often (plus every race event before and after) and cleaned, I was happy with how things were looking.

Also if the engine was knocking bad wouldn't 4 have had the worst comp/leakdown results?? I'm thinking the engine was prolly never in the best shape, but its been good enough to beat everything else in its race class.
