Default Muffler Issue

I just got a used Enthuza 3" dual exhaust system with the 2 Ansa mufflers and when it got here (from Maine via UPS), I took it out of the box and noticed a strange noise coming from within each muffler. Tilted each one to their side and got a fair amount of little gel beads (looked like silica gel) and some fiber strands.
So I called Jason at Enthuza and he said that it could either be crap that has gotten knocked loose in transit or the mufflers are breaking down, and would probably from an extreme heat situation if that's the case.
The system is less than 2 years old and was used on a mid-boosted BEGi setup 1.6, so I'm hoping that it's just that crap got knocked loose and it needs to come out, but I'd also like to know if anyone else has had an experience like this. It'll be a while before the car is up and running so I can see if there is a noise issue because of this, so I'd like to be able to confront the seller with something more than, "Hey, I might be asking for a refund down the road since there might be something wrong with the exhaust you said was in perfect shape but just sold me anyway."

I don't know for sure, but last time I bought a used exhaust by the time I'd transported it home I noticed all kinds of crap come out of it. Presumably it was just stuff which had been knocked loose whilst in transit, either off the inner pipework or inside the muffler.
Either way, the exhaust worked fine once it was fitted. I guess the only way to tell for sure is to fit it & test it out.

Yeah. That's the suggestion I'm going to go with in the end. I just hope that they aren't messed up.
