I'm looking for more aggressive seats that I can still use in a daily driver. Don't want something I can't get in and out of. Needs to be durable, light, safe and sit a little lower than stock. Don't need reclining.

Who has seats they really like? Where's the best place to get them? Opinions and maybe pictures will be greatly appreciated!

Sparco Roadsters are good, but you'll have to cut the shoulder wings and front leg part. Gare from TDR has some aluminum seats that are comfy for aluminum, but you probably wouldn't want them in a daily. My sparco sprint makes driving anywhere but the track a pain.

The Momo Starts are pretty good, fit in a miata, have adjustment rails available. They have always been on my list. They are pretty cheap too, last time I checked.

Momo starts are now on my list.

I was wondering about some of the aluminum seats. They're dirt cheap, like me, I just don't know how the covers hold up with a daily driver and haven't seen many that weren't really aggresive full race bolsters.

Those and "shell" seats aren't bad if you fit right...but its pure luck if you fit. Aluminum is not bad, but you'll probably have to do a back support hoop if you want to get it on a track.

I have Corbeau TRS leather seats. The recline and look great. Perfect fit with the corbeau seat brackets. By the way, might have to sell because my father who drives me with me a lot cannot fit into them (he is too fat).

The question was how much do those aforementioned aftermarket seats wiegh. The stock seats seem decently heavy if there is wieght to be saved with the aftermarket seats this would be good to know. Weren't you paying attention?

It depends on the seat, and most don't use the standard used by sparco / momo / whoever. They are super easy to make though.

Most people don't use the standard side mount brackets in miata's anyway, alot of times because they won't work. It seems much easier to make your own flat stock brackets and bolt them to the floor. Savington has a set of momo's or sparco's bolted to his floor. He took pictures showing how much headroom he gained this way relative to the broomstick rule with a rollbar.

That would be my reason for getting a new seat. I have a long torso, and everytime I sit in a miata with a rollbar, my head is in the perfect spot for getting a nice concussion should I be rearended ... **** that.

fyi I think he's short. I had to weld on extensions to get the seat further back, and I have short legs for 5'11". I also bend my rails to the shape of the floor boards, so I think I'm even lower. I went from cocking my head sideway with the hard top on, to looking up at the instrument cluster and mirrors...lol.
