Angry charging issues

New bosch alt, new bat, the problem started today. I am getting irregular voltages between 11.9-14.4 at idle. Everything has .1-0 ohms resistance. The only wire I haven't tested is the B+ rez from alt to bat but I don't have leads ong enough. Has anoyone has these problems? I just did stage 3 clutch and vlsd conv. Perhaps I pinched a lead when pulling the dt out. What is the ground that attaches to the brace between the trans and dif for? I am at a loss, this is my third alt in the past couple of months new belt and its tight. However the charge like is ver dim thanks -lane

Its a brand new one. I think I have high resistance in the b+ line from the bat to alt resulting in low output voltage.

or the voltage regulator built into the alternator is bad.

the ground on the PPF, is just another battery ground...it's still there right?

Use can use a jumper cable to go back to the battery, or test at the MAIN fuse. that goes directly back to the battery terminal.

Also check if the connectors on the alternator are tight. I had those issues with loose connectors.

If you had high resistance on the wire from the alt to the battery, I have a feeling you'd see low charging voltage all the time...worth a check I guess. Where did you get the alternator? Its completely possible you got a broken one.

Id suspect a NEW NEW one to cost $300. My refurbished unit bought "new" at advance auto parts cost $80.

I'd also looking at the power wire on the starter. that would have been removed during the clutch job.
