Default Dent in the door w/pics, need advice

Well, the wife and I were fighting over who was gonna drive the MS6 to dinner and I hip checked her into the door. Small dent, but it's right on the seam. Do you think this could be pulled out, or am I gonna have to get it pushed out from the inside. Either way, I'm gonna let a pro do it. What does this sort of thing usually run $$-wise.

The first pic shows the damage really well. The second pic is more so you can tell where it is... dead center drivers door.

ouch, it looks like a crease in the picture. Is it a crease, like a fold? or is a dent, like a pushed in area?

a crease across the countor line like that would be tough to pull out. you could try the heat gun and dry ice trick yourself and see if it comes out. no harm in it.

See - that'll learn you - it's completely innappropriate to hip check the wife out of the way when going for the driver's door.....

If you'd have coat-hangered her right from the start she'd never have been in the way to hit the door in the first place.....:gay:

And what was she doing out of the kitchen long enough to challenge you to the driver's seat anyway?????

I guess the angle of the pic distorts it a little. It's more of a dent than a crease. My only concern was the ridge... I know the paint tends to spider when you pop out a dent on a body line.
The wife is gonna take it to a local dent removal place and get a quote. I may have to take the door apart to save a little cash depending on how they want to go about it. We'll see.

If you were in Chicago... I know a guy that could fix that in no time.

I'd always suggest taking your stuff apart and bring the car that way... although most work in the door area like that they don't need inside access. They spread the window trim and go down that route typically.

A couple months ago, my wife's car got a mondo shopping-cart dent - about 8" long. PDR guy at the dealer did the job for $100 flat + tax, and you can't tell it was even hit after a little compound. I understand that about 100 is the going rate. Pretty good deal, I don't know if you'll save too much taking it apart.

That'd be great... does this place have an AWD dyno? If it did, then I'd just have to figure out how to drive two cars at once and I'd be in.

sadly it does not have an awd dyno. but if we find one in VA that is capable of this and ISN'T a dynojet, i'll set up dyno/dent day 2
