Default More hydra / turbo questions thx.

So after some base FM maps have helped and running good. Still need to purchase Wide band have not decided to purchase flyin miata's or go with a generic alternative that I saw posted on the sticky. I was told I better upgrade my spark plugs so purchased NGK BRK6IEX plugs they told me to gap these down to 25 does that seem right. Also was looking at upgrading my stock intake temp sensor anyone know any good alternatives to FM or might just purchase it from them. Figured I would Use Hydra's wide band self tuning feature. ATM I am running AEM Tru Boost Gauge and their wide band.

So will post pictures soon. Any info anyone has will be helpfull thx.

Still sitting at 10-10.5 on arm wideband at idle and at 10 with my foot off the gas on highway or other think new wideband for hydra will help.

What does the X stand for in that NGK code?

You need your wideband to speak with the hydra so you can run in closed loop mode. For that, you will need the sensor that FM sells or read Doppelganger's thread and cross your fingers and hope to make your sensor work. With closed loop mode you can autotune your map safely and stop running so rich. I don't know if you need FM's sensor but it sounds like you need a lot of hand holding (not a bad thing) so if I were you (and I have been) I would just go with FM and ask Jeremy a lot of questions.

I don't know the year of your car but you might need a knock sensor too. This might be misinformation though. Jeremy can send you the version of the FM hydra manual that matches your firmware rev. Also, google and download and read the actual hydra manual.

If you're looking to buy a generic wideband to use with the hydra and dont have the unlock password for the hydra, it will do you zero good.
