Thumbs up Northwest Tuner

I had my car tuned by Kris at KO Racing in Oregon City last Tues. This guy is a really good tuner. He is a mechanical engineer and he has his own shop. He does MR-2's from coast to coast. He builds the turbo systems complete right in his shop, everything. He has been tuning with the Hydra since 04 and has helped them write different setups for it. He got my FM11/Hydra 99 stock motor making 252 whp at sea level. I was expecting to make about 220, as you can usally figure 10% less then Flyin Miata s dyno results, even though they are supposed to be corrected for altitude. I would highly reccomend Kris to anyone wanting to make more power, he got me 35 whp over FM's base map. I ran yesterday all day long at Eddies [Adrenoline Racing] trackday unlimited track time event. I went through 27 gals. of gas and the car was bad ***. Anyway Kris can tune just about any ecu out there, the guy is amazing and I'm not easily impressed. http://www.koracing.net/gallery.php?folder=96 John

Wow. He's 5 minutes from me. If I hit all the red lights. He's in the same parking lot as the gym my GF goes to. Never thought much of him since he seemed to catered towards MR-2s.

Did he mention any abilities with a MS? What were his prices like? Aka, how much per hour and how long did all of this take?

If you visit again, give me a call, I'd love to check out your setup.

Curly Yeh there is a workout place in the same parking lot. He is a MS dealer I believe he said, but he uses mainly Hydra. Stop in and talk with him he is really friendly. It was $630 for 35 more whp, can't think of much you can buy for that much more power. Check out some of his projects and what he builds there. KORACING :: High Quality Automotive Parts - Products. Give him a call, nbrs. are listed on his site, cell is the evening nbr., the other is the shop. He isn't always there as he uses a dyno at another shop just around the corner. I am sure he can tune any system, he is very good. I well let you know if I comje down again, I am thinking of going to a bigger turbo this winter with a external waste gate and well have him build and tune it if I do.
