All these negative comments about the game made me so disappointed. I was banking on GT5 being better than Forza since it also is a disappointment which could have been much better. I guess instead of buying a ps3 and GT5 I supposed I should just focus on getting my car track ready.
Honestly, I could pretty much overlook everything else, if the AI wasn't still zombie like. It just ruins the experience. If they could somehow patch that, and I'm not sure that would be possible, I would be more accepting. Hard to really put yourself in the driver seat when the AI drives their set line without reacting to you in any way, and not capable of being put off the track even after a hard impact, or instead they put you off the track when they *** end you from behind because you braked 5ft early. Absolutely disappointing. Forza AI might not have been perfect, but it was MUCH better, at least good. GT5 AI pretty much turns a close race into bumper cars, since you have to slam AI to get around them when they turn into you when your passing on the inside, or hit and push you into a spin from behind.

would you go play golf without clubs? go rollerblading without rollerblades? it's not gonna fix everything, but wheel and pedals are essential driving. even simulated driving.

Gave it another try, and still pretty much hate racing. No matter the car or mods, the goddamn things love to have snappy over-steer and regaining control from a slide often leads to a snap in the other direction and into a wall. The only saving graces I have found are b-spec mode and photo travel mode. b-spec allows for a little bit of input to control your computer driver, and you still earn credits, and the photo mode has lots of options. Mine didn't transfer well over to my computer, seemed just right on my TV, but on my monitor, they are all over exposed. For some reason photoshop wasn't recognizing the jpg's and I couldn't open them to fix the exposure problems.

nice shots anyway. I don't use post-editing software outside of GT. Maybe your TV is just weird. What do you upload your pics to?
And a rifle controller for FPS is stupid unless it's on-rails like House of the Dead or Time Crisis. Mouse and keyboard are optimal devices for FPS. Stering wheel, pedals, and shifter are optimal for racing sims.

IIRC the controller sticks are prone to being hard to steer with. I think maybe the controller is non-linear. So, not choosing sides, I would not conclude it is GT5's problem until trying it with a wheel.
More in-car vid, less out-car pictures. This is mt.n not cr :P

Another annoyance, god forbid you leave the game idle for a few minutes, it goes into sleep mode or something, the GT logo comes up and thats where it stays. Kind of like it's trying to reload the intro movie, but never does it. So I have to restart.
Also seems there is already a 133mb update released, just minutes ago.

I have to give it to them for the photo mode rendering. Absolutely amazing. These don't look even close to as good as they do up on the 56'' screen.
Look at that detail: (those first two macro shots could nearly fool someone into thinking it was real)

As impressive as that photo stuff is, wouldn't you prefer realistic car handling, accurate engine sounds and impressive AI?
I know I'll likely never use the photo mode, it's a racing game not photoshop....

I guess you haven't read my previous 8-10 posts in this thread where I am disgusted with this game and it's terrible... everything. Just trying to grasp for something somewhat redeeming, and photo mode is all I can find.
