Maybe if I drove an MKIV. I have owned quite a few VW's and they have all been very reliable.


It should do 300 whp at 10 psi and around 400 at 20. The engine should hold up to 30 psi easily.

9 in my family, and every one was a piece of ****...but the mk3 was the best. I had a TT coupe that was comically bad. I put 7k miles on it in 8 months.

is this stock or a built 6? just curious as I've seen a few of the turbo'd vr6s stating 400whp (and they look it in videos).

the stock bits start to die at 17+ psi. I really miss the old slc. THe dubsquared mk2 vr is making 620 at 26 psi. I miss the old vw crew...too bad they were all fwd.

The internals do fine well past 400 whp with just a head spacer to lower compression. The previous owner of the car installed one that is so thick I bet it dropped compression by 2 full points. Running just 10 psi from a full T4 turbo is usually pretty ******* quick. These cars only weigh 2700 lbs.
