40 gig PS3

Firstly, that you simply said that PS3 was cheaper which is false. It is more expensive, but you do get more features. In fact I just found out that PS3 is also an SACD player (Super Audio CD for those of you who don't know) which is another plus for it. HOWEVER, compare just the prices out of the box and the XBox360 is/was cheaper (until this past couple months when PS3 reduced prices). You also said that PS3 outsells XBox360, another false statement. I'm not arguing, just pointing out FACTS.
Again, I'll end up getting a PS3 eventually, just not any time soon. I much prefer the XBox Live community and selection of decent titles. PS3 will catch up in terms of compelling software to own I'm sure and I love the GT series so when that comes out is probably when I'll get the PS3. In the mean time, I'll just enjoy Forza2, DiRT, and my Wii.

show me where i said all that. Just quote it in a post. You need to go back and reread the thread.
(PS PS3 outselling xbox360 were corrected figures for warranty claims against MS and PS3, ie actual units in use rather than units solds, then claim/returned under warranty. Ill find the article when i have nothing better to do)

Yes they did, it's the one I bought. I've been playing Motorstorm for like 5 hours. I can't get over how good the lighting is in the game. Even up close on the hood the mud texture is 3D. The motorcycle only levels are AMAZING.
I also downloaded the Gran Turismo HD demo. The cars seem to handle pretty realistic once you turn off the stupid ASM and TC. The 2nd car I unlocked was the trusty Miata. The drift mode is weird, every time I tried it I just spun around. I'm not sure how much I like that. The addition of Ferrari is awsome!

yeah those quotes don't jive with what you've been claiming there bud. But I really don't care (in case you havent gathered that yet)
Hey miataspeed1point6 go get tversity and enjoy all your movies (whatever format) on the PS3. ive been playing around with it tonight. And its nice to know i can keep my movie database without worrying about formats. Although when Sony lets Xvid go I will be orgasmic

Firedog, your arguments over price are not very well thought out. You cannot compare systems just based on price, while not considering the hardware that lies under the hood and what your paying for it. Thats like comparing buying a civic to a corvette, because they are both cars. Because the civic has more aftermarket parts (games) and it costs more its got to be better! Right?!
The xbox uses a triple core processor (rated at 115.2 Gflops) based off a Xenon, the PS3 uses a 7 core processor (+one dead core) based off a Cell processor, rated at 200 GFlops with an overall system throughput of like 2 TFlops. The Xbox360 supports 5.1 Dolby(TrueHD with the HDDVD player, but cannot support the bandwidth needed over the provided USB cord). The PS3 supports 7.1 TrueHD sound out of the box. Finally, we all know that XB360 runs dual layer DVDs, with 7 GBs of storage.... PS3.. single layer BDs are 25 GB. Justify your purchases however you want, but don't come in here with Bill Gates ***** in your mouth and preach

The 360 is definitely the weaker system on paper, but, it's also got a far better selection of games at the moment. If you don't mind waiting another year for PS3's library to reach that point and you're itching to start watching Blu-ray movies, you should get the PS3.
If you really like Halo, Bio-shock, sports games and are crazy-stoked about Mass Effect, then you're better off with the 360. Furthermore, some folks find the 360 controllers more comfortable.

However, for multi-player, XBox does rule for now. Again, when I get a PS3 when GT5 comes out that tune might change big time since Polyphony has had quite some time to iron out their multiplayer system and is supposedly putting damage modelling in. I never played multiplayer on my PS2 even though I have the net adapter. Mostly because about 90% of my friends have XBox (only the first gen ) and only about four of my friends have splurged and bought a 360 and none of them have bought a PS3. I think that might change when I get one though, I've seen the graphics and stuff. They are quite amazing, I played the Motorstorm demo when it first rolled out and I was blown away.
****, last year after Christmas I was in Best Buy and Circuit City. Both stores got a shipment of PS3's in and made similar announcements while I was in each store. Basically "We just got PS3 in stock, please form a line at the customer service counter for your ticket". No one really made any effort to go get one. I got home and told my wife about that and she goes,"Did you get one?" I sat there for a moment and thought,"****! I should've...."
