Default Advanced Autosport and UPS are MFers

SO now i'm ******* upset.....

Here'S the story.

I bought a clutch line from Advanced Autosport in the past weeks. So 60$ + 8 of shipping is a fair price.

UPS guy showed here yesterday were I wasn't home and put a paper that he'll be coming today and that I must pay 82.73$ WTF? Pay 1.5 time in plus of the line and shipping? I know that UPS has terrible stealing fees and I must pay dutys but not 1.5 time the price of the ******* line! So I decided that when the brown **** guy would come by my house I just tell him to put the line in his brown and ship it back to AA.

Unfortunately for me.... I work overnight so what happened is that my father paid today the ******* 82.73 of **** and now i'm back from work I see the ******* package on the table with me to pay 83$ to my dad....

Guess what. The retards at AA put a ******* 200$ value on the ******* line. So UPS charge broker fee on the ******* value of the package and duty comes by it too. If the dumbass at AA had put the real value I would have paid 24$ of broker fee and all the ****....

So that's my rant of the day and now I'm writing to AA to see if we can sort some things. I can't do nothing with paypal?

that sucks. AA overvalued the package, and maybee they will do something about that. They may not ship outside of the US as much and may have thought nothing of it.

They do that in case UPS loses the package they can make lots of money.
They are all dicks, ****'em, you should ask for them to pay for something.

I'll wait for a reply of them and I'll ask a discount for the koyo rad (if the rad is the 53mm, it's not specified on their website) and that they ship it with USPS.

I don't know what else I can do....

Make sure to tell them how disspleased you are, and that you will tell the entire Miata community if they don't help you rectify this issue. Well, try the nice roll first, it usually works better, but ask for everything and see what you get.
I would settle for free shipping and 20% discount, providing they write $20 walue on the box.

Here's the text I sent yesterday night

Hi,

I bought a clutch line in the past weeks and I just received today. Now we have a big problem because UPS charged me 82.73$ for broker fee. I know that custom and dutys are not of your concern and I knew I would have to pay a little more for duty and custom. but nonetheless UPS charge the broker fee on the value of the package. So can you tell me why you put a 200$ value for the package when it is only a 60$ value? If you had put the real value I would have pay only 24$ for the UPS broker fee. Now I'm up with a clutch line that cost me in reality 150$ instead of something like 80$... Almost twice!!!. Do you think we can call that reasonnable? I don't think so and I'm really upset for that. I hope we can fix something up because many people here in Canada want to buy from you but now they will be thinking twice before buy something from your shop.

Sebastien

Sebastien I ordered a SS clutchline form Advanced Autosports a few months ago. When I placed the order,I asked the person I was dealing with to use USPS as the preferred shipping method. My grand total came to a little over $70(CAD)shipped to my door.

The person I was dealing with also declared the value of the part at $30 so I did not have to pay any brokerage fees.

Always ask for USPS........**** UPS and there extorion fees.

$60 for clutch line? It should be more like $30.

It's the clutch line that replace que curly solid line.

Spike, I knew that UPS has more fees than USPS but it's faster. I must conclude that it's not the same guy that posted the damn line because he trippled the value! If only that line was gold plated......

Damn the forum is so slow!

I'm really surprised by this. Any company who ships outside the-48 should know the ins&outs or how shipping/customs works. There's simply no excuse for AA's screwup. Some people would argue that it's the buyer's responsibility to ensure the company ships on his terms. Perhaps DarkWanderer should have known that anything he gets shipped to him from the States needs to have the shipping details SPECIFIED so things like this don't happen. However, any business who ships just one thing to another country should know in the future exactly HOW to ship things to that country so the purchaser benefits. A company that's paying attention doesn't let little **** like this happen... that's how you solidify your reputation and get repeat business.

I'm EXTREMELY interested in how this plays out. There are a few other things on AA's website that I might be interested in buying at some point. A story like this could influence my decision (for or against) depending on you AA handles it. Please keep us informed.

Exactly 29 hours after I sent the email and still no answer....

I wrote the email at dave@advanced-autosports.com by the way

Their website seems to be unstable too.

Sam, I eager to see what they wil come with for me. I hope a good discount on a next purchase

If I don't get a response in 24H I will push more pressure on them and signal them that I wrote down the case here. May be it will push things up, maybe not.

Still no response....

I begin to think that I will have to forget about any arrangement with them... I'll try an other email right now with the menace of posting my bad experience on m.net

Hi,

It's been more than 48 hours that I sent my first email of insatisfaction about the value you overpriced on my package that lend my to pay 82.74 to UPS for the clutch line. I have posted my bad experience with you now on a miata forum and I have several people that wait for the end of this story to see if they will buy or not from you. They are not even Canadians. Now I'm thinking about to post it on the miata.net forum to see if it will makes things go faster. I ask for an arrangement and you are not even enough polite to respond me after the screw up you made. I'm sure an arrangement is possible to achieve. A refund or may be a good discount on a next purchase with free shipping or something would be greatly appreciated. I think you should take a little more seriously your customer service or it will cost you more than me as a customer.

I'm still waiting for your reply,

Sebastien Mouvault

I've ordered twice from them...never had a issue getting someone on the phone, and its easier to explain in 1 shot..

FWIW my 1st order was the same clutch line and everything was prompt...My 2nd order was delayed over a week (never shipped)...I called twice, and was told my item (ss brake line kit) was on back order but should be in any day now...
The 3rd time I called and said I wanted to cancel the order due to the delay (nothing on their site bout it), I was told it was the COLOR (red) I chose for the plastic that covers the line!!??!! Red was backordered but they had blue/black in the whole time!!!
I politely suggested that they 1)should have called me upon receiving my order, 2)shouldve explained that only that certain color was on backorder.....I asked for them to expedite shipping and was told they'd get it to me via 3day at their cost... It got here on the 4th day...so not sure if they still wasted another day and then shipped 3day, or if they just did it ground the day I called...
Products seem pretty good, so I'll prob still order of there's something I want...BUT I will know to stay on top of them EVERY step of the way...even tho I shouldnt have to...

Anyway, moral is: JUST CALL THEM!

PS-dont give up?? I'm one of those guys that fights if I know I'm right...THEY put $200 value, which cost YOU money...All because they were trying to make out on the deal IF it got lost...(by the way I'm guessing you paid for the higher shipping ins as well).
I'd nicely but firmly demand they refund you XX dollars which = the extra you had to pay in customs/shipping ins...and you want in the form of "store credit" on your next purchase...
If u arnt going to purchase the rad or anythign else, then at best ur probably looking at them refunding you FULL shipping cost...because if they reimbursed you for all that money you'd be getting a free clutch line...

I wish I could call them! If only I could speak english! I can write it and read it but I'm not great when listening and even worst when speaking and I don't have anyone near me that is better....

I filed a claim with paypal. I'm still thinking of buying of them but trought someone else (like someone who stay in USA).... If they don't answer my emails, I don't think they would help me with an other transaction better.

Yay got some news!!!!!

Got an email when I woke up today!

But it's not David Wheeler that responded, it'S Robin.

Hi Sebastian: Sorry it took me this long to get back to you I was out of the Country for 10-days. The order you placed the shipping charge was only $8.00 which went UPS Expedited so your total order was $67.95. The actuall cost for this to Canada actually came to $15.00 and I let this order go and lost the difference. So I am a little confused as to what $80.00 shipping charge you are talking about. I tried to call you several times but no one answers so I will try again. We have shipped several orders to Canada in the past and have never had a problem before. Please call me so we can discuss this matter my number is below. Thank You

I must precise that he received only my second email so he doesn't know the case. I wrote to him what happened and told him that I hoped for an arrangement.
