Default After you sell your turbo Miata...

... and buy a Geo Metro - How long do you get to keep the info for it in your signature?

Is it against the Federal Freedom of Information Act to not change it to this after a year:

Robert McElwee and Sippy
1993 Geo Metro Convertible @ 0 PSI
FE cam, 50 HP, 60 MPG
70 lbs of "added lightness"

Just about through reading through the site. Interesting hypermiler. Can I ask why you didn't start with something less embarrassing to drive (no offense) like a CRX HF or EG Civic VX?

No offense, but gas would have to hit $20/gallon to make me want to drive a Metro. At least its a stylish vert

I have been looking for 2 years and have yet to find an HF within 250 miles. Actually, I did fine one - $8,000 (book value is like $1750 or so)!

If gas hits $20 you have more problems than being stylish. Anyway, it is not a gas saving thing, it is a project. I probably need to make that mission statement more prominent on the site. The $440 I just paid for my "new" transmission will save me about $40 a year in fuel so it is definitely not about the money.

At some point, I will move to a newer model Geo coupe and sell the vert but for now it is what I have. The newer one won't be as ugly but will cost me a bit in MPGs...

We still have 2.5 Miatas right now. I'm trying to get down to 1.5 (selling the blue on on Craigslist).

I'd walk before ever owning a honda vehicle. No offense.. My honda lawnmower on the other hand... Sure beats the **** outa that craftsman garbage with Briggs and Shitton motors.....

Cool project man, I really enjoyed reading your site about it. I've been looking long and hard for a good condition rust free Festiva to do a similar build only with a 1.8 BP...

Wow.

I drove a Metro LSi exactly like that one in '98-'99. Absolutely horrid on the highway, but surprisingly fun in town.

A Hayabusa engine would be fun in that.

I've actually read the entirety of the lightweight forum at least three times in the last few weeks. There is little activity...but I'm debating going full lightweight. That part in Tropic Thunder about "you never go full retard" keeps popping into my head though.

Just read the write-up on the Geo...that hurt. That many mistakes on that car would have killed me...but I see the value in it as a project.

You should find the old yahoo group (just do a search on yahoo for lightweight miata group or something). There was content on it that never got moved over. Might help you on your project.
