It needs forced induction. Otherwise I've always enjoyed it too. Still not quite as fast as I would like. All of that trouble and I would rather have just gone LS1. It does sound bad *** though.

I really like the idea of using a Mazda engine over a chevy. I was a little disappointed in his numbers though, doesnt almost everyone with FI get better then that? Unless I misheard, very interesting that it attaches to the stock tranny. I would feed bad for my car driving slicks on the street, with all the junk they kick up.

Impressive, you would think with the stock gear box the speedo would work. I know it is not needed for dedicated track car. I also wonder if he got the tach to work.

why would you install a 2.0 v6?? you can make that kind of power with a stock 1.8, itbs and 9k rpm and have all the n/a throttle response you want.

well then, i stand corrected. So which is cheeper the v6, the fancy itb N/A 1.8, or a 1.8 with a GT2554r? Wouldn't all of these provide great throttle response and 180hp?

now if you are in csp class autocross, the itb 1.8 is clearly the correct choice.

I went the carburator route which is similar to the irtb. There was not much fabrication, and the car hauls ***. I did raise the compression and added camshafts and racing bucket lifters. The entire build was pretty reasonable. No fabrication of exhaust, motor mounts, etc however. That would be a lot of work and money (like in the V6 car)

The V6 car featured had bone stock internals. Can you imagine what it would be like with high compression, flowed head, and monster cam!
