Default 140 mph all day at 190°--How these guys do it

56K MISTAKE

Roar Racing brought one of their cars to the shop today to drop the motor and put it on the dyno. I got a few pics to share.

Yeah Roar is from Virginia, and this car was having some engine troubles 2 weeks ago so they brought it down.

This one sounds pretty good. The 3 and 4 rotor cars are louder.

Oil coolers seem key. Both of those RX's have 2 oil coolers. Then again they are RX's and even stock they come with oil coolers.

The first one seems like it can't possibly have ground clearance. looks like the radiator is sitting so far below the frame that it can't possibly work.

Love the brake cooling ducts on the second one.

I wonder how much better their oil coolers are than mine, which looks like this:

but bigger.

Because its a 6 port rotary. With 3 intake ports & 3 exhaust ports. Center port is shared between rotors.

And all Manual Rx8s came with 2 oil coolers. The auto only has 1.

Just as an update.
This car had an inappropriately modified thermostat. With a proper t-stat, it ran a constant 160°F on track last weekend.
