Had some of this yesterday while at Freebirds after work. Taste was different at first, didn't mix well with my food. But beer first then food seemed to work. Finished said beer, goood mellow buzz. Food became amazingly good

Not my img.

It looks like I may need to stop talking **** about Florida.

I have moral reservations about paying $10 for a 6 pack, but the Oberon and Left Hand Milk Stout are leaving here with me.

Not sure about a common though, I still like them with more aley bite.
y8's, I think I found one you'll really like, at least I sure as hell do. You may already be familiar with it, as it's from your neck of the woods. I picked up this bomber at a small grocery store (w/good beer selection) the other day, and now that I've tasted it, I will definitely be heading back to buy up some more stock. The bottle boasts of favorable cellaring for up to 5 years. I'll be lucky if I can keep it for 5 weeks. I was surprised their online rating wasn't higher than it is, but regardless, I highly recommend this one to anyone that loves a good barrel aged rye whiskey infused ale. DELICIOUS!

That looks fantastic.

I had this when the local brew house was making it:

Oaked Wee Heavy 2011 – 8.6% ABV
Aged in Catoctin Creek Roundstone Rye white oak barrels, Oaked Wee Heavy intensifies the sweet toffee and dark dry fruit characters while balancing the sweet notes with drying spirit and oak.

I actually had a bottle of the same rye around the same time. It was super good.

Problem for me though is a bomber of 10% beer (or 13% wootstout) is hard to finish in one sitting. It is effectively four beers and that's too much on a school night.

Pretty crappy pour, more head than i expected.

Fantastic beer. On #2 now, probably finish this and end the night on something a bit lighter.

Flying Dog makes some excellent beers, and Gonzo is a fantastic Porter.

Love that stuff.

A friend of mine bought Double Dog a week ago. It was also very good, even though i can only drink one IPA at a time.
For a double IPA it was so good i needed to see what else they had to offer.

I'm drinking my way through the Disney Food n Wine festival today at Epcot, in addition to attempting to drink my way around the world yet again. There is a surprisingly solid representation of craft beer at this event. I'm going to be in trouble shortly.

Trying to keep track on Untappd. Profile is MrGoober

Pilsner and bratwurst in a pretzel bun with mustard. There is a God, and he is German, and he loves me.

Imperials are the bomb. But not too often.

Here's our wedding menu. Signature cocktail was a "shenandoah sunset" which contained pureed watermelon juice, lime juice, simple syrup, and vodka. F the fish or the chicken!

Passed Appetizers:
Seared crab cakes with creole and lime remoulade as side sauces
Caprese skewers heirloom tomato, basil, mozzarella and balsamic reduction
Butternut squash bisque shooters with mini grilled rye tilla cheddar sandwiches

Mixed greens and baby spinach with dried cranberries,

Dinner Station (buffet style) with food signs:
golden beets, toasted pecans, goat cheese and citrus vinaigrette
Roasted lamb (med rare) with rosemary, garlic. lemon and artichokes
Wild mushroom ravioli with truffle salt
Roasted sweet potatoes, new potatoes, fennel and carrots, with caramelized garlic and onions
Medley of green beans, brussel sprouts and assorted squash with brown butter
Artisan breads with whipped butter

Sumptuous Wedding Cake
white cake with peach and creamy filling and a lightly coffee flavored frosting--i wanted it to mimic peach cobbler

(we may have gone overboard, but it was awesome)

Kona's Pipeline Porter (coffee porter) was a SUPER solid coffee porter and was my go-to "cheap" beer....until they stopped distributing it to the 48

I see a number of you guys have good taste in darks...like the Dragon's Tooth and Big Bad Baptist....mmmmm. About to go hit up the taphouse for a Seaside Brewing Dynamite (imperial stout @ 11%)

Thanks for the tip on this one. I just picked up two of them today at a Bevmo in Santa Clarita. Barrel aged FTW!

Can't decide if I should try and age them further, or just dive in. I love this kind of dilemma.
