Default Boomstick is looking good!

I hit the end (grip) on the cement getting ready to take this picture and put a nasty and deep dent/scratch on it but she still looks damn good (IMHO). The $3 laser sight is dead on at 10 yards. Not bad for a $53 investment.

Cool felony you got there. You know it's illegal to turn a rifle into a pistol right? What you now have is a illegal SBR (short barreled rifle) because it started life as a rifle.

Never mind, I thought it was a rifle at first glance. Bet that shotty is a handful with double 00 buck

nice! i'm a fan of all black but that's still nice. obviously you gotta keep oil on that barrel and metal bits to make sure it don't rust

Who needs to make an SBR when you can buy one?

That fires this:

Nice shotty..

I don't know **** about guns, but that looks pretty ******* sweet. Almost like a bolt-action pistol.

Might want to check your local laws there rmcelwee.

Possession of a short barreled shotgun is an f2 here in Florida. Up to 15 years in prison.

FEDERAL and SC law dictates 18" barrel and 26" total length. I'm at 18.25" and 30". No sodomy (at least forced <G>) for me!

I'd rather have more than 1 shot but that thing would put a nice hole in the BG...

Nope, FL is the same as SC:

(10) "Short-barreled shotgun" means a shotgun having one or more barrels less than 18 inches in length and any weapon made from a shotgun (whether by alteration, modification, or otherwise) if such weapon as modified has an overall length of less than 26 inches.

Statutes & Constitution :View Statutes : Online Sunshine

EDIT:

I may be jumping the gun (har har har) when I said NOPE. We call an illegal shotgun a "sawed off shotgun" in SC and you guys call it a "short-barreled shotgun". In any event, my gun is legal in both SC and FL. Sorry if I was arguing your point for you <G>...

I've been meaning to rent one of those at the gun shop the last few times I went but I keep forgetting to. Oh well, maybe one of these days I am actually going to get to shoot it. I bet it kicks like hell!

Looks like fun man, I love these kinds of projects.

Any of you guys use hi-point cheap-o pistols?

Seems to be a uber affordable way into a cheap handgun for safety and phucking around.

My dad has a 40 and a 38 (or is it a 45 and a 38) Hi Point. I don't have one but I have actually heard very good things about them.

Personally, I use a Walther P22 for plinking. It is definitely not a "cheap" handgun but you can't beat going to the range and shooting 200 rounds of ammo for $5-$8. It is also the best feeling gun (fits my hand perfectly!) I have ever shot.

If you want a REALLY cheap revolver to keep by the bed do a search for a Nagant 1895. I bet you can get one for $75 shipped. Finding ammo might be a challenge but you only need 6 rounds (maybe someone will give you a handful).

You can't get a better self defense weapon for close quarters than a sawed off (shortened to legal limit) shotgun. I found, but didn't buy yet, a Remington 870 pump for $179 at the pawn shop today. Yeah, it was a little beat up but if it shoots right, can be cut off, and a pistol grip added it might be just what you need.

Check out the box-o-truth, they basically break it down to .45 Long Colt is about the only self defence round worth using, but it's fun to shoot anyway. the barrel is so short it kills the velocity of the other rounds.
