I find that many women drive mustangs. it almost seems like more than guys. In fact there's some older stripper in town who has one of those shelby mustang convertibles. I wonder how many dicks she sucked to buy that thing

I'm actually looking forward to running into some mustang people this summer. Seeing as I have their 5.0 but built better than most that I will see and they are giving up 500+ lbs, it's not really a contest.

Do you expect to have traction? Have you done any testing? I'm aware that it's probably rather cold in your area at the moment, but what are you expecting?

To be perfectly honest, I'm guilty. I originally bought my Miata as a high school car for my oldest daughter.

She HATED it (noisy, too small, she didn't feel safe, she didn't like shifting, she couldn't take more than one friend, yada, yada, yada).

I friggin' LOVE this thing. I also loved the Douglas A-4. And the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18.

So much for the chick car theory.

I have RS3's on 6UL's for DD duty and I have a pair of Mickey Thompson ET Street drag radials on a pair of 6UL's for drag racing.

Based on other V8 owners, both will work well. Obviously the straight line traction will be better with the drag radials but the RS3's should hold well second gear and above.

Crossed my mind until I remembered that they are rated for 50mph. Oh, sure they will do more, but I'd hate to go with my usual analogy of "go til it blows and next time back off a notch".

I bought my fiance a 92, well ours really, and I'm proud that she can drive it. If miatas were "chick" cars, then there would be more good female drivers out there. Just saying.

Guilty as charged, lol. I love how Miatas are loud, exciting to drive, easy to work on, RWD, LSD, double wishbone, center of car seat position...I guess I drive a girl's car.

Not hypothetical by the way. I have offered this introduction into light weight sports cars on many occasion.

G forces can be fun in more than one direction.
This.

Any hater who gets a ride in a somewhat properly setup and decently driven miata gets shut the ---- up on the first 50 mph left hand turn.

Note the left hand turn limitation. This is important. You need to avoid the puke.

yeah, like everyone I've heard it and think its funny. the general population knows nothing about about cars so they can talk all the ---- they want, doesn't even register with me. spec miata is the most popular race series in history end of story. I know at at least half a dozen people that sold sold various sick track cars, porsche gt-3, vettes to buy miatas because they got sick of paying for consumables every weekend.

I also refuse to believe that it's a chick's car when some one at my build owns one and it has Special Forces stickers on the back window. I work on an Army installation, so I don't think it's someone ------- around.

Yeah, mine gets beat down all the time... its known more as "the cute car" but I seem to think other wise. I LOVE these cars. I've been wanting to make a sticker saying "Does my a** look cute? ha just the other day I was on my way home and had a ricer honda bro tool Point and laugh. Was pretty funny as he started to speed up as I hung beside him for a sec then took off, met back up at the light guess who was laughing?... haha ME, and the look he gave was priceless!
