Great Scott!

Niggling question: Why's there padding on the portion of the rollbar in the passenger side rear seat area? Between the effectively shut door and the exhaust, I don't think anyone's going to be sitting there.

Good lord, man... Is there some sort of background on this turbo brick?

Man...I've always wanted a bad *** grocery getter.

Too bad my wife already wants me to get rid of it. I was just going to use it for the cargo space (CL finds), and consider turboing it after I graduate...but I have to admit it would quickly get out of hand.

For crying out load!! As if I don't see enought badly styled and farmyard tuned volvos here in Sweden, I now get to see a 240 Wagon at MT.net.

No, it has no potensial. It is 5tons of Swedish common sense, practicallity and pure dread. It is mind-blowingly boring and a source of instant depression. You will be terrified to take it above 70mph, because it handles like an elk who just took 3 rounds to the chest. Every damn farmers boy here in Sweden has one, lowered by cut springs, badly held together with the cheapest bondo they can find, brush painted flat black with a big stereo and a couple of drunk 14year olds in the back. You typically find them outside the local busstation or hot dog stand, trying to burn rubber.

Yes, you can get reasonable HP out of them but they will still not be fast, due to weight and lack of grip / handling.

They are not terrible as rally cars though... the sedans, that is.

Where is Niklas? He will agree with me on this one. Just trust us and step away from the volvo.
