Last night, I was driving home and I ran into this pulling out of the local community college parking lot:

The very same car from the ad I posted a while back.

He kept slowing up trying to get next to me, but I didn't want to catch aids, so I pulled into a parking lot to escape. He got pretty close a few times... Could I have caught something? I'm scared. Real scared.

I think we should all pool some cash, say 50 bucks, and see if the owner will video a skid pad test for us. Is there some quantifiable means of measuring understeer beyond horrible G numbers? That thing has a shot at the record.

That would be an absolutely epic LeMons car.

I'd be more interested in how that car is here, unless it's merely a swapped 323 BG FWD hatch.

I'd assume it's original as the ad says kilometers (then he converts to miles) and it's RHD.

From the way I read it it's original. No idea how it got here. In Maine of all places. Maybe military transfer?

Ah well... Possibly. It's not technically legal yet, unfortunately. Still... lowballing then hanging on to it for a couple years could be a good idea. They're cool cars save for the glass driveline.

Yeah I understand. He does advertise it as clear title.

I'll be back in NH in a few weeks and thought about looking at it but don't really have a need nor any room for it.

*In 1999, Mazda celebrated the 10th anniversary of the MX-5 with the 10th Anniversary Model, 7,500 units of the 10th Anniversary were produced, with 3,700 distributed to Europe (of which: 600 - UK, 20 - Portugal), 3,150 to North America (of which 3,000 to US and 150 to Canada), 500 to Japan and 150 to Australia. Car number 7,500 was sold in the UK. The limited edition featuring some until-then exclusive features, namely a six-speed transmission and Bilstein shock absorbers; performance figures were slightly different, with slower acceleration but higher top speed than the standard 5-speed model.
