Have you recently experienced a very high fever, or suffered any significant head trauma?

This condition is treatable, but much as with a stroke, time is of the essence.

The more dumb shows you watch the dumber you get, and the more of those shows you want to watch. Its a viscious cycle.

I suggest breaking this cycle as soon as possible.

To me you guys just sound like a bunch of cranky old men.

There always has been **** entertainment for the masses, and there always will be. The Kardashians may be new, but tabloids are not. Reality TV = tabloids on TV.

It's just the free market in action. All you libertarians can't complain. The Learning Channel used to be funded by NASA. Then it became private, and now it has turned into The Retard Channel. The free market has spoken.

I disagree.

It's important to be cognizant of the spread of ignorance. Knowledge really is power for our species. While I'll agree we all need entertainment, if we allow each consecutive generation to enjoy cruder and cruder entertainment, and supplant more and more of their capacity for knowledge with this diversion, we will perish, and possibly at our own hands.

I'm not cranky or old, but my soul does die a little bit every time these shows are being watched around me. I see no benefit for anyone who watches some of the shows (honey boo boo, teem mom, etc.). Do people feel better about themselves, actually enjoy the content, or what? I can't even force myself to find entertainment in it, I just lose faith in humanity and change the channel :(

We will always have 1/4 or more of the population in full retard mode, but why do we keep lowering the bar? The Southpark episode on this is perfect. If you get a chance to watch the "Raising the Bar" episode, do it lol.

I understand this is a product of what consumers are demanding. It is simply saddening that this is where we have arrived. TLC's name alone is now a case in point.

I'm not sure which is worse... the fact that Honey Boo Boo has her own show, or that someone somewhere let this human thumb continue to be a mother.

Or worse: SOMEBODY FUCKED THAT.

I can assure you...

With my conservative, authoritarian political views... if I was ruler of this great country.. many of these people would be cleansed.

I would take her skin, and finally have a suitable Jaba the Hutt costume for Halloween.

I already know I won't be getting TV in my home, even if I have a wife.. I'll enforce zero TV. I literally get angry at some of the most passionate levels when I watch the utter retardation that is allowed to be viewed by our population.

Goddamn free speech. Back in Algeria, the good thing about being Socialist back in the day? This dumbshit didn't exist.

The most striking thing to me was the ages of everyone in that family relative to everyone else.

Father: 40
Mother: 32
Oldest daughter: 17
2nd daughter: 15
3rd daughter: 12

You can do as much math as you want - every single combination of ages adds up to "creepy as ****".

You might want to maths again.

As for the age gap... it's not creepy NOW.... but basic math will tell you what's up.

I'll only watch a couple shows on the internet. And I give myself a few of the dumb shows (like workaholics.. I think we can all agree, that's a dumb show worth watching)

But I can't stand most of the **** that goes across the screen. When I found out about Honey Boo Boo... I was so horribly tempted to write essay on essay on essay to any broadcasting company about the absolute putrefaction of our current societies entertainment needs.

****, I know I'm young, so I could be wrong. But pretty sure TV before, was generally not as abhorrent as this.

The one thing I will give to the military on one hand, is that it has it's own broadcasting service. And they generally don't stand for that bullshit. AFN (our broadcasting network over here) doesn't have the ultra crap shows. A few mediocre ones.. but I'll settle for lame as opposed to tasteless.

I exercise the whole "don't like it? Don't watch it" mentality. But sometimes.. this **** spills IRL, and it just resonates in my bones to go on a massive slaughter fest with these worthless sheeple.

What is more crude, a kid with stupid parents going to pageants or whatever the **** they do on that show, or gladiatorial combat? I am going to go out on a limb and say murdering people for entertainment is slightly more cruel than reality TV (only slightly).

What knowledge is gained by watching movies? We have had those for over 100 years. How about going out to clubs? Destroy your liver, have bad sex with a diseased *****, lose your hearing. Nothing spreads ignorance better than two half-wits ******* in a club bathroom.

Sorry, every generation thinks the next is going to be the end of the world. I continue not to believe it.

Maybe not the end of the world, but I feel like we are spiraling downward at an alarming rate. And im not even talking about the next generation, Im talking about my own generation here.

Youngest was 0 when mom was 20.

Yeah, that's better.

The 17 is what's gross, especially when you figure in father's age at the time.

(Although... additional research shows that current "father figure" is only the father of Honey Boo Boo, not of the 12, 15, or 17 year old.)
