Why wrap and no ceramic coating?

Because in my personal opinion/experience ceramic coating sucks. I've seen tons and tons of headers that it flaked off after only a few thousand miles. Swaintec seems like the only one worth doing, but it's a bright white, and it's like $250+shiping, for that much money I can re-wrap using this stuff like 5 times. Just a personal preference.

I think I'd buy that high end heat shielding aluminum panel stuff before I ceramic coated this thing.

So, how many times did you rewrap it until it was "perfect"?

Yep, from what I understand Swaintec and Jet-Hot are the only two worth doing. Everything else is "ceramic paint"

Jet-Hot is ceramic paint.

There is that company in socal that does the same thing as swain, if that helps, its still the same cost though.

You are probably the 3rd person I've seen mention this company in SoCal. Does NO ONE know the name of this place? I'd rather do business here that mail my **** to New York and back.

What coolant do you guys put in your Subaru? I work at Toyota so i can "borrow" some coolant (we have both the red and the pink kind). I was going to do the timing belt and water pump at work so its just extra convenient for me, and I'm pretty sure its going to be safe to run that but thought I'd ask here. The reason I'm slightly skeptical is because I remember seeing a specific coolant we use for the FRS and its not our pink or red coolant. I have not seen it since and I don't know where we keep it lol. if all else fails ill just go buy the subaru coolant

tl;dr, coolant neurosis/laziness

I run the correct subaru coolant and distilled water. Its like $17 a gallon for concentrate at the dealer if they're not dicks, thats like cheaper than brand name universal stuff.

I run distilled water and I think Prestone (though I probably switch brands every time I change it), and the special Subaru coolant conditioner crap that nobody can seem to decide whether is required for real or not.

I never really had a preference. Used oem, used prestone, used other parts store stuff, never saw any difference.
