Default Do you advertise your turbo?

Just trying to get a handle for what people do when they get a turbo. Stick with the sleeper look or do you guys stick on knockoff Porsche "turbo" logos on your trunks or something very subtle?

Either way, share what you do.

I go sleeper all the way. I try to make everything appear 'stock' on the outside of the car. I wouldn't add a turbo or SC badge to it.

Sleeper. Straight cut non polished exhaust tip, offset intercooler that will be painted black.

But I do like cars that are obvious, and I love the sound of the part throttle turbo garble/whine on unrestricted exhausts when you are behind them. Paul's car sounds sick.

The IC is kind of a dead giveaway and soon as i get into boost the WG dumps to atmosphere and everyone knows.

How do you plan to paint it black without ruining the cooling properties? I have been thinking of doing the same thing.

Sleeper all the way!! If it wasn't for the high probability of my car ending on the roof, i would not have added a roll bar.

Spray the IC at an angle so you only get paint on the ends of the bar and plate.

paint is too thin to make a significant difference in cooling efficiency of an ic. it's proportional to thickness of the medium and paint goes on thin.

Non-American VW turbo badge on the back, which most people don't even notice, miataturbo.net stickers on vent windows, and an intercooler that fills the whole opening in the bumper. It's not a sleeper, but you can hear the turbo spool up anyways.

What about intercoolers in anodized black...? Should make for much stealthier looks ...

I had a sweet black anodized Forge IC at one time. Now I'm running a Spearco with Swain BBE coating.

Just the FMIC and type s bov..

I like the clean look, not trying to hide anything.

I like my BOV to be the tell tale sign that and the fact that they are behind me for some reason.

Well, my olive-drab-*******-green miata and gold rims isn't very sublte. But at least I have a little hp to back it up.

No IC yet (too dayam lazy), but it's amazing how many drivers speed up just to see if I'm running an intercooler.....as if the dual-pillar pods don't give it away.

The BEST part about driving a miata is that people don't know if you're boosting 6lbs or 15lbs. When I first got the turbo in I was cruising on the freeway when an S2000 pulled along side of me. He looked over and gave the loud pedal a little jab. I did the same thing except it was exclamated with a "PsShhhHH!". He looked over and shook his head, "Noooo..waaaay". I tried to get him to bite (I would most likely lose), but he wouldn't do it!! I guess he thought i was boosting 20lbs or something, lol.

This has happened a few times. Fun.

I have a miataturbo.net sticker on my harddog rollbar. Other than that, no real advertisement.

Of course, I don't actually HAVE a turbo at the moment. lol. I'll be putting a T25 setup together soon though. Probably a Begi-S kit to replace my old Greddy setup.

I had planned on being stealthy, but there is really no hiding the turbo whine with open down pipe. No bling in the bumper though, just a OEM evo IC.

With flares, stripes, and big *** tires everybody expects my car to be FI'd. It was quick NA, but looked faster than it was in a straight line.

I don't drive it on the street much, but when I do, I get all kinds of idiots wanting to race. Now if I can ever get this thing tuned, I may have something for them.
