Is anyone using one of these bad boys in a e-bike? Radio Control Planes, Helicopters, Cars, Boats, FPV and Quadcopters - Hobbyking

Seems small enough to work and not be suspicious. Would be capable of going stupid silly fast.

Gave up on the e-bike, bought EFR instead. Someday I'll be back though.

Dead thread for 3 years. Anyone still playing with e-bikes? My new job is only about 4 miles away, but due to the inefficiencies of local traffic and intersections, it's nearly 15 minutes in the car.

I would be interested in a solution that would help me (1) mostly keep up with traffic (eg, not doing 12 mph in 40 mph traffic), (2) deliver me to my workplace in something less than a sweaty mess, and (3) cost less than a used econobox.

Just how easy is the e-bike easy button these days? I have a 2001-ish GT Zaskar that I could use for a build, or possibly the late 90's Diamondback Outlook that's been hanging in my parents' garage for years.

Looking at BBS02 mid-drive kits. Anyone have experience with them?

I've done a lot of reading about these kits, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I think the BBS02 is the best value, as long as you're not trailing riding real steep stuff or plan on riding through a lot of sand or deep snow. I would probably go with the nicest 52v battery pack I could afford, and hot-rod the controller... but stay away from WOT on the real big chain rings as not to burn up the BBS02. Then eventually replace with the BBSHD if I do.

This guy has a really good e-bike blog...also a mid drive evangelist:

***EDIT***

Luna cycle has anniversary sale going... this might be enough for me to make a purchase:
