After a 9 mile hike, and decided I needed some sushi.

40 dollars later, I ended up eating a half a carton of cookies and 2 glasses of milk when I got home.

I should have hit Wendy's instead of the sushi. It would have been 32 dollars cheaper, and probably healthier after factoring in the cookie fiasco.

Dinner last night. Duck consommé, foie gras, caramalized sea scallops with asparagus and some kind of little pearl pasta with shredded sun-dried tomatoes, and a cream cake soaked in amaretto.

Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of lunch. Hell, even in the crew's mess they're dishing up some remarkably good chow. Today was lamb curry over rice, grilled vegetables, and a sort of creamy pasta thing. Not nearly as fancy on the presentation, but filling and yummy.

Today my lunch consisted of Saltines and Pedialyte. I caught a touch of food poisoning last night.

I want to dine with Joe.

There's a restaurant in Chicago that is supposed to be exceptional. No menu, you sit in the kitchen, and the chef brings you food. Unfortunately it is about $800 for two people with wine. I'm going to make this a vacation.
I have an Italy trip this year. (first time to Europe, yay) I could care less about museums. I want an insane food experience.

I quite enjoyed NYC for the food. I plan to go back when I can devote more time and money to food, and not wedding bullshit.

There is no better food than sushi though. I'm absolutely addicted to this one place near my work that has a crawfish and cilantro roll topped with ahi tuna. If it wasn't $2 a roll, I would eat there several times a week and bring some home, but it's so damn expensive! Just two orders for myself (12 rolls) ends up being nearly $30.

I had pretty gourmet like food for my wedding.

Passed Appetizers
Seared crab cakes with
creole and lime remoulade as side sauces

Caprese skewers
heirloom tomato, basil, mozzarella and balsamic
reduction

Butternut squash bisque with
mini grilled rye tilla cheddar sandwiches

Dinner Station with food signs
Mixed greens and baby spinach with dried
cranberries, golden beets, toasted pecans,
goat cheese and citrus vinaigrette

Roasted lamb (med rare)
with rosemary, garlic. lemon and artichokes

Wild mushroom ravioli with truffle salt

Roasted sweet potatoes, new potatoes, fennel and
carrots, with caramelized garlic and onions

Medley of green beans, brussel sprouts and assorted
squash with brown butter

Artisan breads with whipped butter

Sumptuous Wedding Cake
With berries and mint
our tasting was one of the best meals I had. definitely the best free meal.
