It's at 15.6 from the factory according to the Mazda website.

my friend has an ms6, 1.4 more psi on the stock turbo shouldn't let you hang with a blown v8

The Mustang was probably still traction limited halfway through 3rd gear. I was surprised the MS6 didn't absolutely rape him off the line.

The problem with the MS6 is that Mazda chickened out on the tuning. Here's the DYNO on a car with just an intake: http://forum.mazda6tech.com/about5270.html Notice how after about 3500rpm it goes stupid rich and then gets stupider. There is a huge amount of power to be gained without going to higher boost.

Guys are seeing well over 300ftlbs and some are nearing300awhp with simple bolt-ons like Intake/DP/MBC/BOV.

A couple guys have claimed bone stock running a 13.8sec 1/4mile. StreetUnit and ATP are the front-runners for the MS aftermarket.

My only mod has been the CPE motor mount. It gets installed this weekend. They also just started a group buy for a Fujita CAI @$220. That'll be my next MS6 buy... after the LC-1 for the Miata.

Yes, look at the gains BEGi saw just by tuning the AFR to be fairly consistent throughout the rev-range: http://www.bellengineering.net/Image...ockandXede.jpg

Over 65whp and 80lb-ft of torque! At that rate, I'd just run the stock boost map, maybe throw a better intake and downpipe on the car.

I still have an intake to install on my MS6. But I agree, MUCHO power just from proper tuning. I am hoping I can afford an Xede for it sometime and get it tuned properly. That car would be about perfect, for me, with 280-300 hp at the wheels. Probably get better mileage after the tune too... lol

cause they admitted they wanted the MS6 to be more everyday person friendly....which doesn't make sense when you are building a mazdaspeed line.....

plus the awd on the thing is like the GTIs, dump the clutch, watch the fronts spin, then the rears catch a second later.

I did read that the new R32 is supposed to send 75% of the torque to the rear wheels. They almost made it sound like that was the "normal" bias, not just what it did when the fronts where slipping.

BTW, it didn't really sound like that Mustang was traction limited.

Sorry, wrong choice of words earlier.
I just went down to a local dyno shop and they had an 05 GT with the standard Paxton kit making 450rwhp. With sticky tires, I can see the Stang keeping up on the launch, but with that power, he should have walked he Mazda after 2nd gear... and didn't. I don't know what combination of things happened, but the Stang wasn't getting it all to the ground... or something. The MS6 is fairly quick, but it's not 450rwhp quick. They wiegh an almost identical 3600lbs, and with a significant power advantage, it shouldn't have been that close. I don't know?

Yeah, if it was a 450rwhp 'Stang, then something was wrong. Or the MS6 had a lot more work done to it than he was letting on.

I really really like the MS6, and I really really like that they discount the **** out of them. Lots of people getting them for under $22K.

Yup, you can still get an '06 Sport w/o sunroof or nav for around $22k if you can find one. I bought my GT w/full options minus Nav for $22.5k. There are some quirks that you find out quick enough... most of them have easy fixes if you search the forums. My first mod will be installed tomorrow, a new motormount. Next will be a CAI. Then we'll see... maybe a test-pipe to delete the second cat.
