Default ELDC and torque vectoring

Electronic Differential Lock Control. AWD and electronic diffs with DSC/DTC and no traction control.

It haz.

I also make ****-eating grin for my wife who impatiently wanted to take photo.

So far I'm impressed with this thing. It's fun to drive for a truck-like-looking vehicle. It's tossable and doesn't plow even without sport mode.

Also impressed by the purchasing procedure. I got some quotes from local dealers that were way lower than I expected, my favorite one matched it, got me a free $250 ipod snap-in adapter, and my financing was approved LOWER than we signed our paperwork for (2.6% instead of 2.89% for many years). Didn't have any baloney to deal with. Just walked in, agreed on the price, agreed on the rate and ordered the car. 7 weeks later, we went in, were offered 10 different add-ons without pressure, wrote up the contract (they waived the @#$&* document fee of $399 without me asking?!?) and we left. Super simple. Would shop MINI again.

Anyway I was mostly curious if youse guyse had any opinions and thoughts on active diffs and torque vectoring. so far I'm a fan.

I don't even know what it is and I'm already figuring out how to put it on Theseus.

let me put it this way: it will fit a rear-facing child seat, a stroller, and a pack and play and 3 adults 6 feet tall comfortably with a bunch of crap. I haven't tested this but I've tested them individually. Also there is a roof cargo option.

seriously it's pretty awesome. I was ordered to make a fast U-turn and not only was the countryman flat for the whole thing, it was GLUED to the road. it didn't push or get loose and the DSC didn't slow it down too much. It did limit my power-on a little bit so I'd have to try again with DSC off / DTC on and see what difference it makes.

I seriously think I will get into more trouble in this car than in the miata.

Sav: find one to test drive. apologize to the salesman afterwards.
tips: in front of the shift lever is a button labeled "SPORT". Press it once until it illuminates.
to the right of the "SPORT" button is the traction control button. press it once until "TRACTION" shows up in the middle of the tach behind the steering wheel. THEN go flex its muscles.

I will say I was impressed when y8s took a fast 90° turn. Thing was glued to the road where any other car would have pushed or stepped out.

why are you looking at my pants?

yes 1.6 twin scroll turbo with valvetronic.

EPA sez 25 city/31 hwy and 28 combined.
so far I'm in low 20s because people want joy rides and the new funness hasn't worn off. also i'm sure there's engine and drivetrain break-in to be done before things loosen up.

I'll have to seriously look at that countryman as a replacement for Meg's '03 cooper S. I think she will get tired of installing the baby into the back seat in her current car.

Hmm. Our forester will needs replacing eventually, and this looks promising.

So 6' adults fit in the back seat? We'll need that. My 8yo is on track to make me look short, and I'm 6'2.
