Default Pre-dyno day woes

I spent all day Friday preparing the car for the Saturday dyno day. All this includes cleaning the interior, installing a radio, redoing the intake piping, oil change, and SHOULD have included turning up the boost.

The radio install took me a few hours and lasted till an hour or so ago. After that I went out to work my magic with Megasquirt, planning to turn the boost up to 15 PSI (Currently 12ish) and get those AFRs real solid (I've never touched them by hand, all VE analyzed). I went to get gas and as I was heading to the highway I noticed the lack of a loud pssh when I shifted gears. OK,I figured the blow off valve vacuum line came off, so I pulled into a parking lot and found that both my helper spring and brand new air filter that came in the mail today fell off. Just my frackin luck.

I drove back and retraced my path and found the air filter. Looks like it has been run over a couple times. Amazingly it bent back to shape and fit right on, it's butt ugly now. No sign of my helper spring though. The funny thing is, I had a paper clip safety mechanism to keep from losing it if it fell off up until yesterday when I deemed it unnecessary, HAH! With the current luck, I'm sure if I started tuning my motor would blow up from sucking in a bird. I decided to call it quits after that. The best laid plans of mice and men...
I guess it goes to show that now matter what you do to be prepared, something bad can and WILL happen.
